Hey, I'm George.
I'm a software engineer and solo founder building gethome — a smarter home powered by AI.
I've spent 8+ years building software, and now I'm working on making smart homes more intelligent, connected, and easy to control.
The iOS app is live on the App Store, and I'm just getting started.
If you're building a startup, working on AI, or interested in smart homes, let's connect.
Just applied to HF0 with gethome.
Building a bridge between AI and the physical world. Starting with smart homes, building toward Physical AI and robotics.
The bottlenecks in AI are moving beyond the models.
We’re excited about startups building the hardware, infra, financial systems, and specialized software to bring AI into the real economy, from factories and data centers to government and space.

Your rooms, in 3D — coming to gethome for iPhone in the next update.
Photograph a room and AI draws it as a cutaway of the real thing, by day and by night. Your iPhone lifts it into 3D, devices standing where they are. Tap one to switch it.
gethome is live on Product Hunt today.
I’m building an open smart home platform that runs on a hub you own, with AI that helps you create automation rules.
The goal is simple: make smart homes more flexible, private, and easier to customize.
I’d appreciate it if you checked it out and shared your feedback.

Describe a device. An agent builds it.
It plans it with you, writes the firmware, flashes the board, adds it to your home and writes its automations. You press Flash and Add.
Device Studio, coming to gethome studio for Mac.

Your smart home is a dozen apps and a dozen accounts.
We built gethome to give it a mind: one small computer at home, Matter, Zigbee and MQTT in one app, and agents you can just ask.
No cloud account. Your AI key stays on your hub.

Building in public: first experiments with making your own physical devices in gethome.
Describe a device in a sentence → an AI agent plans it and writes the firmware → one click flashes the board → the agent reads its log to check it works.

Yes. Rules are written by the agent, shown back as a flow, and saved switched off until you enable them. For Zigbee, the AI suggests the type/controls (all recognized properties are visible on the device page in the app). Without a key the device is flagged needs review. Nothing runs automatically.
gethome studio for Mac also shows the full recognition details - what was identified, how, token and cost usage - and you can download the schema file that maps the recognized values to standard Matter properties.
I really love making things that look good.
Just shipped gethome for iPhone, my smart home app. Describe a rule in plain words and the assistant builds it. A new Zigbee device joins and the AI works out what it is.
@Joshua_WD 100% agree — this was one of the must-have features when I started building gethome. Unlike standardized Matter devices, Zigbee has a huge number of devices with very different capabilities. Our goal with AI is to make it possible to connect absolutely any of them.
@karanjagtiani04 Thanks! That’s actually a feature of the app — you take a photo of your device and we generate its image right in the app.
It also works with homes imported from Apple Home.
@topphamilia Thanks! That’s exactly the friction we wanted to remove. You describe the rule in plain words, the agent builds it, shows you the flow, and saves it switched off - you turn it on when you’re ready.
