Two true servants of the Blood & Black were honoured at our End of Season Awards Night as Joe Gage and Geraint James received Special Recognition Awards following their retirement from rugby.
The awards were presented by Mair John, recognising the immense contribution both players have made to the club and the wider Aberavon rugby community.
Thank you, Joe and Geraint, for everything you have given to the Blood & Black. Your impact on this club will not be forgotten.
Geraint James – 161 Appearances and Counting
Today marks a special milestone as Geraint James makes his 162nd appearance in the Blood & Black against Llandovery.
As he prepares to retire at the end of the season, this may not be his final game — and it may not be his last at home either… to be continued.
What is certain, though, is the immense contribution Geraint has made to this club. His commitment, toughness, and pride in the jersey have set the standard for those around him.
From everyone at Aberavon, thank you Geraint for everything you’ve given in the Blood & Black shirt.
Two Welsh Legends, Billy Boston and Lewis Jones, Billy with @WiganWarriorsRL and Lewis with @leedsrhinos also both Great Britain Tourists. Lewis was a dual code international with @WelshRugbyUnion and British Lions. 🏴
@LeeJarvis10 We have a limited squad, with a number of senior players carrying knee/ankle injuries, the risk of injury to them is too much of a risk, given the impact it would have on us for the rest of the season
31 October is quite the day in All Black history.
In 1972, they lost at Stradey to the only Welsh team to beat them since the invention of colour television.
Then lost again, 6 years to the day later, to Munster.

@distantpod nice to hear your mention of @GorseinonRFC legend Lewis Jones in the latest episode, here's a copy of the tribute we prepared following his passing which appeared in @leedsrhinos programme
@ScarletPembs , on your recent pod you praised Llanelli Wanderers for being at 'the top end of the amateur game', they're not they pay their players, please don't bracket them with true amateur clubs who gain success by their own efforts, not some sugar daddy.
WRU should take note, that’s the atmosphere you get from genuine fans, no band, no choir, no chubby opera singer, just passionate fans. Atmosphere in the Principality stadium is embarrassing compared to Wales Football at the CCS
