What happens when technology gets too far ahead of society?
The current playbook is to freeze the tech so society can catch up. That’s a defensive trap.
The real solution is hiding in plain sight: We shouldn't decelerate the science; we need to accelerate society's ability to absorb it.
It requires flipping our entire perspective on impact and implementation. That is exactly what we are building at @mlxdoing.
President John Dramani Mahama was today accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Belarusian Presidential Palace, where he held bilateral discussions with President Alexander Lukashenko as part of his State Visit to the Republic of Belarus.
The engagements culminated in the signing of three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening cooperation between Ghana and Belarus in key areas of mutual interest.
The agreements cover the establishment of a Joint Commission for Cooperation in Trade and Economic Affairs, enhanced collaboration between the respective Chambers of Commerce of both countries, and cooperation in the field of agriculture.
The MoUs were signed on behalf of Ghana by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa; Ghana’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Mr. Jehu Appiah; and the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku.
The agreements reflect the shared commitment of Ghana and Belarus to deepen bilateral relations, expand economic opportunities, and advance cooperation in sectors that support sustainable growth and development.

The way the Ghanaian government handled the xenophobic attacks against their citizens in South Africa, teaches a lesson to all African countries to never allow any country in the world to disrespect their citizens. Love your citizens and protect them against evil abuse
Ghana’s benchmark stock market has risen 63.4% in local-currency terms, making it the world’s best performing after South Korea https://t.co/1Q6l1nXd6H
🚨⚡️ Xi was showing off 300-year-old ancient trees in the secret Zhongnanhai gardens.
Trump ignores the trees and asks: "Do you bring other Presidents here?"
Xi shakes his head: "NO."
-: Trump just wanted to make sure he’s the favorite. Peak Main Character Energy! 🤣😂
While everyone else was at the @3iafricasummit taking selfies with regulators, chris, the ceo of @_moondoog was the only one honest enough to say we are losing the race against fraud.
Most African summits produce declarations. The @3iafricasummit in Accra produced something rarer, receipts.
Last week, Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang announced that Ghana will partner with Rwanda, Zambia, and other African nations to pilot a Continental Digital Trade Corridor.
The goal is straightforward but significant: a Ghanaian business should be able to invoice a client anywhere on the continent and receive payment directly, efficiently, and in local currency.
The three pillars of the pilot: Mobile money interoperability across borders, Mutual recognition of digital identity for cross-border KYC and Harmonised electronic invoicing across AfCFTA member states.
But what made this summit different from the usual policy theatre was what happened on Day 3.
By the closing ceremony, Second Deputy Governor Matilda Asante-Asiedu was confirming executed outcomes, not aspirations:
✅ Fintech Passporting — Done. Two fintechs are now fully licensed and operating between Ghana and Rwanda. Central bank governors from Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Liberia, Sudan, and Rwanda agreed to extend the same framework to their countries.
✅ Cross-Border CBDC Pilot — Ghana and Rwanda will launch a joint Central Bank Digital Currency pilot, built to scale and open to additional African central banks. Nigeria is next in conversations.
✅ ISO 20022 Upgrade — Ghana's payment rails are now being aligned with global financial messaging standards, enabling faster settlements and richer transaction data.
And underpinning all of it — a domestic policy stack that includes a passed Virtual Asset Providers Act, a Digital Credit framework, a forthcoming Continental Fintech Sandbox, and a National Fintech Inclusion Program.
The VP said it best: "The systems we build will determine whether Africa participates in the global digital economy on her own terms — or operates within frameworks defined elsewhere."
Africa's intra-continental trade sits at roughly 15% of total trade. Every other major regional bloc does far better. The plumbing being built right now in Accra is what changes that number.
Ethiopia made sure the first African Social Media Influencers Summit happened in Addis Ababa.

Eight reasons China made it
1) Flattened social hierarchies
2) Pushed gender equality
3) Never allowed the West any control
4) Pushed education & nutrition for all
5) Locked religion behind private doors
6) Set national S&T goals and achieved it
7) Played the West's game against the West itself
8) Kept the top corporates under the State's boot.
1, 2, 4 and 5 transformed the society.
5 further made society rational & progressive.
3 and 7 kept it sovereign.
6 prepared it for 21st century.
8 allowed for common prosperity & not naked loot.
Despite its authoritarianism and surveillance state character, it did a lot for the common Chinese citizen (bar a few groups like rural elderly etc.) and miraculously escaped the poverty trap.
Very difficult, though desirable, for many other nations to even copy bits and pieces of this playbook.

Pan Africanism is not a slogan; it is an idea, a hope, and a deliberate quest for the unity and solidarity of African people everywhere, aimed at advancing the social, political, and economic future of Africa and its diaspora. It is not hatred of white people; it is the direct confrontation of white supremacy and the structures that sustain it, from colonial legacies and neocolonial economic control to exploitative trade systems, raw resource extraction without value addition, distorted global finance, political interference, and the erosion of African identity. It asserts that Africans must take charge of their own development and define their own future. Where others look outward for aid and handouts, Pan Africanists insist on building African owned production and supply chains, engaging the world as equal partners, not dependents. At the same time, true Pan Africanism is not blind to shortfalls of Africans and black people; it demands self-awareness, acknowledging internal weaknesses and advancing through education, discipline, and a transformation of mindset. It is a call to reclaim pride in African history, culture, and identity, and to celebrate them unapologetically. If you believe in Africa and in the power of unity, collaboration, and shared purpose to achieve prosperity, then you are Pan African. It has no single leader, no fixed structure. It is an idea, a belief, a hope!
