@ChrisRamsey60 Always looking at duplexes to buy and move in with my VA loan but then I remember I used to own a single family rental and want nothing to do with managing it lol
My background is in fund accounting for private credit funds, CLOs, repos, T-bills, credit facilities.
Recently realized that hard money and private money lenders are running the same type of operation at a smaller scale.
Loan books. Accrued interest. Investor capital. Draw schedules. Payoffs.
If you run a hard money or private lending operation:
β What does your back office actually look like?
β What did you wish you had when you were starting out?
β Is the financial/reporting side a headache?

@JaredDHardin One time right before the run we were asked if we needed to warm up and a Colonel said yes and ran a couple laps and we all just stood there waiting like wtf lol
@SamIAmtheREMan I know you mostly talk about hard money lending but was wondering about your thoughts on the note investing side? Buying at a discount, good LTV margin, "mailbox money", real estate collateral, I feel like note investing has a pretty good combo of benefits to it.
@BrattoBiz I'm running a combo of SCHD/QQQI/BTCI right now. I think of SCHD as my retirement account for the later years so I just let it compound and build up my BTCI and QQQI positions for income but definitely weighted more towards SCHD currently
