Sure, life isnโt perfect and this may be a small thing to YOU. But isnโt it also a really small thing to change?
Create new habits: inclusive language requires breaking old habits. In order to change how you use language, we need to be conscious and deliberate in our choices so we don't fall back on previously used words and phrases.

If you hear someone using language that excludes others, say something. That's a way of changing culture, which changes slowly and often involves lots of small steps.

It can be very hard to confront noninclusive language, usually from influential people. However, confronting it can increase our confidence and when we confront someone about their language, they are less likely to do it again and change views on what is appropriate behavior.
