IOC Bans Transgender Women From All Olympic Female Events Starting at the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

The International Olympic Committee has instituted a universal policy restricting female categories to biological females.

The IOC will require a mandatory, one-time SRY gene screening test, moving away from a sport-by-sport approach.

The policy effectively bars transgender women from competing in all Olympic female events. Supporters say it protects fairness in women’s sports because male puberty creates lasting physical advantages. Critics call it discriminatory.
