@martinplaut The people of Ethiopia and Eritrea have no problems. The problem is on the leadership. Thus, leaders need to find ways to solve the problem peacefully.
AEPAC Condemns Massacre of Ethiopian Orthodox Christians in Arsi; Calls for Justice and Accountability
According to a report released by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, unidentified armed groups carried out mass killings targeting Orthodox Christians in Eastern Arsi during October 2025 (Tikimt 2018 E.C.). The Church expressed its deep sorrow over the deaths of innocent believers and called on authorities to uphold the right of all Ethiopians to live and worship freely, without fear of persecution.
A BBC report highlighted the tragedy with the headline: “The family in Arsi where eight people, including a mother and her three children, were killed in the attack.”
Details of the Atrocities:
In its official statement, the Eastern Arsi Diocese of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church reported repeated attacks across multiple districts, resulting in the deaths of at least 25 Orthodox Christians, including children and the elderly. Among the incidents:
Between Guna and Merti Districts:
On the nights of Tikimt 14–15, 2018 E.C. (October 24–25, 2025), seventeen people were killed by unidentified assailants.
Sherka District (Hela Zenbaba, K/Arsema Area):
On the night of Tikimt 17–18, 2018 E.C. (October 27–28, 2025), three individuals were murdered while they slept.
Honkolo Wabe District:
Between the nights of Tikimt 18–19, 2018 E.C. (October 28–29, 2025), five Christians were killed.
The victims — ranging from infants aged two to elders of seventy-five — were targeted simply because of their faith.
Despite repeated appeals by the Church to local and regional authorities for peace and security, the Diocese reported that killings, property destruction, and persecution have continued unabated in parts of Eastern Arsi.
Church Appeals for Action
The Diocese, through Liqe Heruyan Tamrat Wolde, confirmed that the diocesan administrative council convened an emergency meeting on Tikimt 19, 2018 E.C. (October 29, 2025), reviewed incident reports from parish offices, and submitted an official report to the Patriarchate. The Church urged the government to take effective measures to safeguard the lives and rights of its members.
The Holy Synod of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church has since called on national and regional authorities to engage seriously with the Church’s findings and to work toward a sustained and just resolution to religiously motivated violence.
AEPAC joins the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in demanding full accountability for the perpetrators of these heinous massacres.
We call upon the U.S. Government, Members of Congress, the United Nations, and global human rights organizations to unequivocally condemn these atrocities and to take urgent action by supporting the following measures:
An independent and transparent international investigation into the massacres;
Immediate protection for vulnerable Christian and other religious communities in Arsi and other conflict-affected areas;
Accountability for government and security officials who fail to prevent or respond to such atrocities.

📍Urgent Request for Non-Interference Amid Amhara Crisis
Dear @MikeHammerUSA ,
I hope this message finds you amidst the gravity of the situation unfolding in Ethiopia's Amhara region. The #Amhara people are currently in a dire struggle for survival, facing a genocidal war and severe humanitarian crisis. In light of the circumstances, we respectfully request that you refrain from stepping in our way, as we perceive a level of complicity with the actions of the #Ethiopian government.
The last few days alone in Amhara region, particularly in Amhara Sayint, several drone attacks have taken place on civilians in front of the world. Unfortunately, it seems that the plight of the Amhara people has garnered little attention or concern, including from your office. Attached herewith is a graphic video that starkly illustrates the human toll
of these recent attacks, emphasizing the urgent need for a response.
The Amhara community has observed what appears to be a pattern of alignment between your administration and the Ethiopian government, contributing to our hesitation in seeking your assistance directly. Our plea is not for your intervention but rather a favor – to abstain from hindering the efforts of those fighting for survival on the ground.
The people of Amhara are enduring unimaginable hardships, and any hindrance from external entities, unintentional or otherwise, exacerbates the challenges we face. By respecting our request for non-interference, you allow the Amhara people to navigate their path towards relief and resolution without external obstacles.
We hope that you understand the gravity of the situation and consider our plea for cooperation. The Amhara people are resilient, and we are determined to navigate this crisis with the autonomy needed to secure our survival.

Shocking reports are emerging out of Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa; ethnic Amharas are being harassed, illegally arrested, & separated from their families by armed soldiers. Similar actions are reported in other towns. This ethnic targeting is an aspect of the ongoing #AmharaGenocide!! #JusticeForEthiopia

The regime in Ethiopia has commenced drone attacks in Debre Birhan. A lot of civilians are killed! There is no coming back from this... Genocide, war crime and all kinds of crimes against humanity is being committed by this regime. It's writing it's own exit in the peoples' blood.
