As always, huge thanks 🙏 to the contributors to this release, our users and customers who without their support Redash wouldn't be the same.
Happy Querying 🤓
Two important updates for you today:
📦 Beta version for the V9 release is ready: https://t.co/MH3sh9n0Bk
🛡 Security Advisory re. internal addresses restriction bypass with the JSON data source: https://t.co/q6EtL43Z70
The v9 release is a big one as it has a Python 3 backend and full React frontend. Two big behind the scenes changes we were working on and happy to see them finally delivered.
Also it has new data sources and many improvements and bug fixes (more details in the CHANGELOG).
@joekjoshua@metabase@dremio There is a pull request that adds Dremio support (https://t.co/GjfLBvk2lO), but unfortunately we dropped the ball on it.
Recent versions of our Docker image already have the ODBC dependencies installed, so it won't be that hard to add support for Dremio as well.
@darthony@digitalocean Thank you for letting us know. We have SSLmode, but didn't have ability to set the root certificate. The good news are that it's coming:
@eithermonad Yes if you use the V9 version which wasn't officially released, but you can pick up the preview image. A proper beta release is coming up in a week or two.
If you want to learn a bit more about the behind the scenes of Redash, the project's history and more, @arikfr was interviewed by @tobiasmacey on @Podcast__init__: https://t.co/e9n76fJEIK
