GROW (Getting Rid of Weeds) is your go-to resource for diverse weed control solutions such as cover crops, harvest weed seed control, crop competition & more.
Ultra-precise target sprayers like the Ecorobotix ARA can spray nonselective herbicides in non-GMO crops without crop injury! While herbicide regulations don’t currently permit this, researchers are excited for what this could mean for growers’ weed control options in the future.

From coast-to-coast, weed scientists are reporting that Palmer amaranth continues developing herbicide resistance. Now glyphosate-resistant Palmer has reached the PNW while the Northeast is grappling with non-target-site atrazine resistance, aka the dreaded “metabolic resistance.”

Cover crops can prevent residual herbicides from reaching the soil, but rain can wash a portion of those herbicides to the ground – as long as an individual herbicide chemistry allows it!
Consider applying residual herbicides early-postemergence when planting green to maximize how much reaches the soil, and know that certain herbicides have more potential to wash-off cover crop residues than others.

If deer and weeds are reducing your soybean yields, don’t expect a tank-mix of deer repellents and herbicides to tackle both problems.
When tank-mixed with herbicides, deer repellents typically don’t alter herbicide effectiveness…BUT they also don’t consistently keep deer away from soybean fields.
That’s according to research from the University of Missouri’s Dr. Kevin Bradley. Read more here: https://t.co/6DyIYGdpAd

How well do foliar nutrients and herbicides work together in the sprayer? A University of Delaware study found no major impacts on weed control, but cautioned that in suboptimal spraying conditions, the added nutrients could actually help weeds recover from herbicide applications, so proceed with caution!
