We have reached a stage in our country where there are only two sides to every issue and every incident. Each side lives in protected echo chambers which are provided with a curated set of ‘facts’ and/or video footage from certain camera angles that are consistent with the preexisting views and conclusions of that side.

Individuals are ‘convicted’ of serious crimes in the headlines, by politicians appealing to their base, and ultimately in the minds of the public, or they are exonerated, before all of the facts are in and a detailed investigation has been completed.

This is not good for America. We need to go back to a world where we suspend judgment and await the conclusions of a detailed investigation before we convict or exonerate. Let’s not forget that a man is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Rushing to judgment helps no one and harms us all. It also greatly elevates the temperature, which keeps potential targets of law enforcement and those who enforce our laws on edge, massively increasing the risk to all.

We need to take a deep breath and reserve judgment before this gets even more out of control.

I just experienced a beautiful moment here in Beirut, Lebanon. I was sitting in a coffee shop in the city, watching live coverage of the Pope’s arrival on my laptop. Across the room, I noticed two young men huddled over a phone. Curious, I walked over and realised they were also watching the live images of Pope Leo XIV landing in their country. To my surprise, they told me they were both Muslims, and then warmly invited me to sit with them so we could watch it together. A new report from Brown University finds that America has spent $33 billion on Israel in the last 2 years.

That’s $45 million dollars EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

That’s $4.85/day for every citizen of Israel.

The American taxpayers have sent EVERY citizen in Israel a $144 check, every month, for 24 months straight.

A family of 4 in Israel is receiving $577/month in subsidies, courtesy of the American taxpayer, for 2 years now.

Israelis still have free healthcare and free college and subsidized childcare. They haven’t reduced any of their social welfare programs.

Meanwhile Americans are literally paying for groceries with their credit cards. Same as they have been for almost 3 years.

These are not random bonds. They are tax shelters for the ultra-wealthy. A 5% muni is like an 8% taxable yield if you’re in the top bracket. He’s locking in federal tax-free cash flow.

He spread them across schools, utilities, energy, private colleges, and state general obligation bonds. those are sectors directly influenced by federal dollars (education aid, energy grid funding, disaster relief, etc.).

As President, he literally controls policy that can strengthen or weaken these exact issuers. Example: Federal bailouts to Illinois → his Illinois bond gets safer and more valuable.

School and college bonds (Bryn Mawr, George School, Williamson County, etc.) tie into education funding, which his Department of Education could influence. Energy/power bonds tie into DOE policy. It looks like self-dealing.
