You want to feel some nostalgia this morning?
Volume up.
Listen to Johnny Miller and Gary Koch. The setup is perfection.
Then watch Tiger. Just doing what nobody else did.
Those who lived in this era get it. We sure are lucky.

Run this combine and compare your results to the benchmarks below to see where you stack up.
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
Putt from nine different distances. from each starting distance, keep putting until you hole out. Count every stroke. Do this twice for 18 total holes.
STARTING DISTANCES:
3ft, 6ft, 9ft, 12ft, 18ft, 24ft, 30ft, 36ft, 42ft
SETUP:
No measuring tape needed. Just pace it off (make sure one step = 3 feet. practice this a few times with a tape measure so your step distances are dialed).
You'll putt from 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 steps.
TWO WAYS TO RUN IT:
1) Sequential: Start at 3ft, work back to 42ft, repeat
2) Random (better): Mix up the distances each round
IMPORTANT:
Go through your full routine on every putt. If possible, rotate through different holes during the session to mix up breaks and speeds.
Track your total putts across all 18 "holes".
AVERAGE PUTTS:
0 indexβΆοΈ32.1 putts
5 indexβΆοΈ33.1 putts
10 indexβΆοΈ33.9 putts
15 indexβΆοΈ34.7 putts
20 indexβΆοΈ35.4 putts
If you're a 15 and take 34 putts total, you just gained 0.7 strokes on your handicap. Take 35 putts? You lost 0.3 strokes.
Perform this combine on a regular basis.
Track your results.
Watch your putting improve.
