@AskAboutAnimals@samanthaiam I was pondering the drag as well. It seems to me that if the drag was significant, the turtle would have evolved techniques for removing the remora. Following that logic, the drag must be below the threshold of significant caloric expenditure, right?
@damonmc@raymondh One sec, join() does not allow multiple arguments... and here I thought almost all the standard library functions did. I also discovered that it doesn't promote integers to strings, so ",".join([1,2,3]) doesn't return "1,2,3" like it should :-)
@damonmc@raymondh Is this a situation where the one-liner docstring could include an example: Returns the concatenation of the given iterable(s) with the [self] string as the separator (i.e. ",".join(['a','b','c']) returns "a,b,c").
It was a good day for working on a little boat. Made a mast from a eucalyptus sapling that was cut by tinkerers ten years ago, and a sail from a recycled kitesurfing wing. #tinkering#sailboat @ Montara, California https://t.co/o4hv9GBCft

People often ask me what present they should give a child. I have one universally positive answer: give them a pocket knife. At #tinkeringschool we like the #Opinel because of the locking blade and good handle. #giveakidaknife
