Green Futures Fellowship

Our virtual climate education fellowship aims to empower young people in the global south to lead the fight against climate change.

Our first cohort just received their certificates, wrapping up an enriching 8-week fellowship.

Huge thanks to our amazing facilitators and a special shoutout to @theheycampaign for helping us empower climate leaders from the Global South. @greenfuturesug @TrashionKe254

New beginnings!

I’m excited to share that I’ve started a new chapter in my professional journey: pursuing a two-year MSc in Global Change Management at @hneeberswalde, Germany’s leading university for sustainable development studies.

Vielen Dank, Deutschland! 🇩🇪

Schools in South Sudan are closing due to an extreme heatwave, with temperatures expected to rise beyond 45°C.

Climate change is an education issue.

[Jonah Kirabo 🇺🇬🇩🇪 @jonahkirabo]

One thing always bothered me! Who is training the next climate leaders and what skills are they equipping them with to effectively communicate and initiate projects that address the #climatecrisis? #COP28

[Jonah Kirabo 🇺🇬🇩🇪 @jonahkirabo]

I joined young leaders and experts from around the world to assess the current state of #climateeducation in different countries.

We demanded that ministers of education worldwide implement necessary policies to advance the quality of climate education. @Mock_COP #COP28

Our wonderful co-lead, @Habibabien_eco, is currently in Lebanon, representing our fellowship at the ongoing #ClimateJusticeCamp.

Climate Education and Sustainable Fashion belong on the frontlines, and we're pleased to be in Beirut with over 400 climate activists & organizers.

[Green Futures Fellowship @gfifellowship]

Well done, Gome! We’re all proud of you. #GFFellowship

[Gome Ng’ona @Gomezyani8]

Alot has been done over the eight months of 2023 that I'm proud of, but successfully getting two certificate of my online course under very difficult time truly fills my heart that I'm really true definition of a warrior.

Confirmed climate activist and negotiator

I've accomplished many things this year that I'm proud of, but successfully concluding the first cohort of the @gfifellowship truly fills my heart with joy.

This is something I've had in mind for years, and I'm grateful that God guided us to implement it this year.

Last week, we had the honor of hearing and learning from the incredible @parn33tkaur, who guided our fellows on how to use social media for climate advocacy, poetry, and how they can overcome eco-anxiety.

It was an amazing session today to learn from this profound lady about social impact advocacy.
My takeaway message was understanding social media for community impact and I can rest assure you that this session was ear opener @gfifellowship @GGI_Kenya
