@Darb_Seyah777@realDrTT Maybe I'm a weak woman, but this is making me sick again. It's just revolting to believe that the Fall of Man was necessary or good.
@TableTopLiberty@realDrTT@Darb_Seyah777 If you are in the process of conversion to a Christian faith, you are a follower of Christ. I make no judgments about anyone's salvation, including mine. It's why I won't call them Saints, I don't know.
@Darb_Seyah777@realDrTT There would have been families without original sin, just as animals would have reproduced. There just wouldn't have been lust to disorder the love of man and wife. Original sin led to Jesus having to die under torture. It was not a good thing because ooh, now we can have sex.
@realDrTT@Darb_Seyah777 The event that separated people from God, led to disordered relationships between men and women, death, pain in childbirth, work, and oh yeah, God Himself having to be tortured to death was good because otherwise people were too dumb to mate. That's spiritual darkness.
@realDrTT@Darb_Seyah777 They don't believe in original sin and he said the fall was a good thing because it taught Adam and Eve how to have sex. The LDS website hints at the same thing, but its page on the Fall is written for children so they gloss over that a bit.
@Darb_Seyah777@realDrTT I've attended several times. I've also had a lengthy discussion about original sin with an LDS poster that left me feeling physically ill the differences were so great. I wish you nothing but the best, but being very real about doctrinal differences is important.
@realDrTT@Darb_Seyah777 Honestly, I don't see why they want to be included with Christians, given how alien their beliefs are to Christianity. How could a Christian chaplain properly minister to them according to LDS beliefs.
@realDrTT@Darb_Seyah777 I think it's good you're reading Joseph Smith's writings. I just don't think we should handwave differences by saying we are all followers of Christ.
@realDrTT@Darb_Seyah777 I'm...not denying the Pope works with the LDS church. They have similar political and charitable outlooks. But it doesn't change the reality that the Church treats the spiritual care of LDS adherents as that of unbaptized persons, meaning they are not Christian.
@Salt_n_Smoke They think Satan was a good guy in the garden too, because Adam and Eve wouldn't have known how to have sex without the fall. I felt sick with spiritual attack when an LDS adherent told me that last week.
