Each generation wants to do good work and be respected.
They just define those things differently.
Weve got so many new teacher's in the last few years. And many of them of the quality where they would have never had a job ten years ago. Admin is banking on the fact that they can coach them up, but the attention is coming at the expense of the other staff and students
Principals⦠before you can be an āinstructional leaderā⦠you have to first be a good colleague. You have to be a good supporter. You have to be a champion for those you wish to lead.

When you donāt brush your teeth AND you donāt floss AND you skip some of the dental visits, you donāt get to blame the dentist for your bad teeth.
People need to STOP BLAMING SCHOOLS for kids that are behind. We arenāt a solution for everything.

If you choose to go to a state funded public school, why are you allowed to opt out of the state test? Itās kind of part of the deal. We can say opt outs donāt negatively affect teachers and schools, but they do.
After one of his coaches knocked this trash can over after a tough loss to Alabama, Jamal Shead stopped and picked up.
No one was watching, not doing it for kudos or applause, simply doing it because itās the right thing to do.

There isnāt a ārealā teacher shortage.
There's a shortage of willingness to invest the profession with respect and support.
There's a shortage of willingness to make the jobs appealing enough to attract and retain all the people schools want to attract and retain.
