@Dorothy410berry It was the only election I recall where the country had a clean fiscal slate — with the budget in surplus and dollars available for big plans and big dreams.
Then we squandered every bit of it.
For progressive orgs making their #eXit today from this place, I hope to see you in the blue skies soon. For those in need of help with conscious uncoupling from here, monitor NN over there; we have some counsel in store.
It’s time for us to #eXit. Musk is using this platform and the reach it gives him to undermine our democracy. It’s time to stop helping him. We will see you where so many members of our community are now, on Bluesky! We’ll be posting #NN26 from https://t.co/OQyL6EJait
Friends —
The world's richest man turned Twitter into a far-right propaganda machine and will continue to wield it as a cudgel against us. I'm more or less leaving here personally, and encourage others to do the same. I'm also trying to make it a bit easier to move to BS 🧵
One sign of how effective these efforts are—on the independent side, too—is that I live in a heavily Dem area of Philadelphia, with two other loyal Dems, and NO ONE has knocked on our door since the day the last of our three mail-in ballots was marked as received by @PhillyVotes.
@byjoelanderson@jdesmondharris My kids fought like cats and dogs here in L.A., and the little one all but decked their older sibling once — but now they can spend hours playing in the toy room in total happiness. All I can say is, tell them right from wrong, show them the same, and let time pass. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@EntitledCycling Spotted this specimen at the fence of my 6 year old’s school the other day as I picked him up — and for perspective, I’m in a flippin’ Rivian:
@carimachet @davidminpdx When the Supreme Court concocted qualified immunity, I was 10.
Forgive me if I was more focused on Smurfs and other cartoons at the time.
We wondered who Trump would name as his running mate, when his key handservant has stood here all along — wearing a black robe and hoisting Trump, alongside his party, as high above the law as he can.
Joke of a ruling. There is obviously no such thing as “presidential immunity” in the Constitution, and Roberts uses Air Bud logic to say otherwise. https://t.co/8iTOxMP0Bt
