It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our mother, Deanna. Many of you know that our mother was struggling with cancer. While we are sad to say that she is gone, we are glad to say she is no longer suffering and is face-to-face with Jesus. 1/

A service will be held in her honor on Saturday, February 25 at Willowbrook Baptist Church in Huntsville, AL.

Visitation with the family will be from 2:00-3:30 p.m. followed by the memorial service at 4:00 p.m. 3/

It actually happened yesterday. I was asked by an elderly woman in an elevator “when are you due?”. I’m a 61 yo #MBC survivor in a chemo turban with a large swollen belly -ascites and diffuse liver mets. Got a good laugh telling others. “Bless her Heart” #BCSM Paracentesis today

Help #onctwitter #bcsm. Started #Trodelvy early Aug and then reintroduced IVIG ( on 7 years, took a break to try & qualify for trials) Anyone heard of this reaction- uncontrollable shaking and fever spike? 2nd time now, resolved 1 hour from stopping infusion. team is puzzled.#mbc

Thankful to be approved for Trodelvy (12th line in 3yrs)technically I’m HR+PR-Her2- but endocrine resistant (esr1). So far so good with SE. Last 6 months were very tough. Just bought a smaller home(1 level). Selling house of 33 years! #MBC #TNBC ? #bcsm

@silke4senate @UCSFCancer I asked the chemo room volunteer to wear a mask around me and he basically refused. Had to tell him to go away because he was openly coughing. 😖 my clinic does not require masks but the staff knows to wear one around me.

Cancer musings thread. I love the beach and was reading about rip currents and began comparing them to cancer. You may not see the danger that lies just below the surface. The dreaded diagnosis pulls you out swiftly into deep tumultuous territory 1/4.

Sadly, many will be swept under quickly and not make it out alive. Their cancer was incurable and despite all the thrashing and effort, current science wasn’t enough. Rip currents just happen. We did not cause them. We can take some precautions to avoid them, but…3/4
