Turkey suffers from a chronic illusion of grandeur. A bubble inflated by symbolism, nationalism, and repetition.
Massive convoys for a football team eliminated without scoring a single goal. Endless boasting about NATO’s second-largest army - formidable against Kurdish guerrillas, invisible everywhere else.
A defence industry promoted as a revolution, yet Iranian missiles expose the gap between propaganda and power.
The rhetoric is imperial. The results are humiliating.
When a country has to remind the world every single day how strong and important it is, it’s usually because it isn’t.
Real power speaks for itself.
She isn't being lashed for singing without hijab. She is being lashed for singing.
It is illegal for women to sing in Iran.
Why? Because the sound of a woman's voice is considered "provocative" and therefore "corrupts society."
The whitewashing of this regime by western activists and podcasters is a true testimony to how morally distorted the western world has become.
You have to pinch yourself to realize that in their moral universe, these are the “good guys” who have only been “provoked by western imperialism.”
The Islamic regime in Iran sentenced singer Parastu Ahmadi to 74 lashes for performing without a hijab
She was also banned from leaving the country and engaging in creative activities for two years. The reason for the verdict was a performance without a hijab during an online concert.
Ahmadi gained fame in December 2024, during the height of the Iranian protests, after performing the famous patriotic song in front of an empty hall.
She performed without a hijab, which is mandatory according to Islamic norms.
Soon after, Ahmadi and eight other participants of the performance were detained.
I was going to formulate a tweet about the recently signed Iran-USA deal - that no amount of appeasement, concessions, or sanctions relief can reform this regime - but I found this that says it way better than I could. Every word of @PahlaviReza and @AndrewMarr9 here on @LBC ⬇️
The White House finally sent members of Congress the new Iran deal. It didn’t take very long to read. In short, I think it’s a joke. It hands Iran everything and gets almost nothing back.
Compare it to the 2015 nuclear deal Trump tore up. That agreement forced Iran to ship 97% of its enriched uranium out of the country, rip out two thirds of its centrifuges, and accept the toughest inspections ever placed on any nation, all while leaving in place non-nuclear sanctions against the regime. It was not perfect. But it bought verified distance from a bomb.
This new deal does the opposite. It allows Iran to stay exactly where it stands today, after years of secret progress that nearly created enough uranium for 10 nuclear bombs. The hard nuclear questions get pushed to talks that may never happen.
And look at what America gives up front. We immediately waive sanctions on Iranian energy exports that fund the regime. We release roughly $24 billion in frozen assets. We even promise to organize at least $300 billion to rebuild Iran and lift every single U.S. sanction. In return, Iran promises to negotiate later.
Missiles, human rights, and Iran’s terror proxies were dropped from the agenda entirely.
I will always support diplomacy over a war that Americans never asked for. But a deal the enemy is celebrating tells you all you need to know about who came out on top.
This agreement leaves America and its allies weaker. Senator Cassidy was spot on when he said yesterday that Reagan is rolling over in his grave.
Hitting Iran’s nuclear and missile sites was the right move. This regime chants death to America, murders our troops, and attempts to assassinate Americans on U.S. soil. They believe they have an obligation to destroy us.
Now, we plan to unlock billions of dollars and lift sanctions, with the promise of even more money. They will use that money the way they always do— to further their nuclear ambitions and on terrorist proxies against us. It’s a huge mistake to pay to rebuild the threat we just destroyed.
Reagan is rolling over in his grave. Iran’s nuclear ambitions were not curbed, and they have learned that threatening the Strait of Hormuz works and will undoubtedly leverage it in the future. Now, Iran gets to build brand-new infrastructure under this deal.
Before the war, the strait was open, Iran was being crushed by sanctions, and 13 service members were still alive. Now, 13 Americans are dead, families have paid billions at the pump, sanctions will be lifted, and the bombing has stopped. This is the worst foreign policy blunder in decades.
Why is no one talking about the catastrophic failure of senior US military?
The political failure is on Trump - no doubt whatsoever
But the actual military plan was absolutely incompetent, failing to achieve any war aims and losing the Strait of Hormuz- that's on his Generals!
Dearest People of Iran 🇮🇷 …
We failed you.
We believed him, too.
I know my apology doesn’t mean much and certainly won’t bring your loved ones back—but I am so, so very sorry.
Sincerely,
An Ashamed American
Even Obama or Biden might have handled Iran better than this. JD Vance signing his dream deal with Tehran is like signing a PEACE DEAL with a SHARK and then acting surprised when it STILL BITES. God bless America. I respect President Trump, but I trust the Iranian regime about as much as I TRUST a CROCODILE to BABYSIT.
Trump shouldn't play business with Middle Eastern politics. In the Middle East, it's soccer-football. Israel knows the pitch better. The Islamic regime in Iran treats every agreement like extra time, KEEP BREAKING the RULES and HOPE the REFEREE NEVER blows the final whistle.
No deal is better than a bad deal. If Iran won't dismantle its nuclear and missile programs, stop funding terrorism, and keep the Strait of Hormuz open, then close this file the way you closed Obama's Iran file, and finish the job.
In a period of two-months, Israel has gone from a great ally and partner in war, fighting by our side against a horrible enemy that has killed thousands of our people, killed tens of thousands of their own people, and was a dire nuclear threat intent on attacking us, to Israeli PM Netanyahu being a difficult person who should be thanking us for saving his country from Iran and should get our permission if he wants to defend his people from Hezbollah and Iran, and stand down when his country is attacked.
And just yesterday, Israel's PM avenged the execution of 5 American soldiers by taking out a Hezbollah commander/terrorist. And only Israel has been killing Hezbollah leaders who murdered our Marines, soldiers, embassy staff, and more. It seems to me a kind word is in order. How does this make any sense?
FYI Iran is now rich and will control the strait while selling their oil on the open market.
I was critical of Obamas deal, but this makes that look amazing in comparison.
Trump F’ed it all up then got bored, but he’s 80. He won’t have to live with the consequences for long. We will
Friends of Iranians:
Tonight, I want to speak directly to the people of Iran, the dissidents, and diaspora. To the families who have suffered. To the ones who have lost loved ones. To the ones who have been waiting for justice. To the ones who believed the world would finally stand with them.
I am sorry.
I am sorry that America opted to make the most shameful decision in the history of America.
I am sorry that President Trump chose to make a deal with the illegal occupying regime.
I am sorry that your courage was met with politics instead of protection.
I am sorry that your sacrifices were answered with negotiations instead of accountability.
I am sorry that the world keeps asking you to endure more than any people should ever have to endure.
You deserve better.
Your children deserves better.
Your fallen deserves better.
Your future deserves better.
I know this decision has shaken many of you.
I know it feels like another door closing.
I know it feels like another moment where the world looked away.
I know it feels like betrayal layered on top of grief.
But your story is not over.
Your fight is not over.
Your truth is not erased by any deal made behind closed doors.
Your courage is not undone by political choices you never agreed to.
I will create a YouTube audio version of this message later. I want you to hear it in my voice. But I cannot record it right now. Tonight the weight of this moment is too heavy and I need a little time to steady myself before I speak it aloud.
Please know this: I am with you.
I will keep speaking for you.
I will keep telling the truth.
I will not let this deal be the final word on your struggle or your dignity.
You deserve better than this.
I am sorry.
Hard to overstate the feeling of betrayal felt by Iranians inside and outside of Iran right now.
Unfortunately Trump now takes his place alongside Carter and Obama in a long tradition of US Presidents who have sold out the Iranian people
