CRPF claims use of pellet guns on protestors in Delhi is NOT a human rights violation

I’d filed an RTI with Rapid Action Force (which is a part of CRPF) asking for information related to the use of pellet guns on unarmed protestors on 20th July during the Jantar Mantar protests.

Under law, CRPF is exempt from RTI Act EXCEPT in cases related to corruption or human rights violations.

In response to my RTI:

👉 CRPF refused information claiming that use of pellet guns on protestors in Delhi is NOT a human rights violation

👉 When this was appealed, the appellate authority AGAIN denied the info claiming the same excuse

First the Modi-Shah Govt denied that pellets were used. Then, when exposed, they refused to give details of total number of victims.

And now, it is BAFFLING that use of pellet guns (banned under international law) on unarmed youth in India’s capital is NOT considered to be a human rights violation by Amit Shah’s CRPF.

In any civilized democracy, this is a shocking argument to make.

I shall now be submitting this to the Hon’ble Supreme Court to request the court’s view on it.

गुजरात में जब नरेंद्र मोदी CM थे, तब oil-gas ढूंढने के लिए 27,000 करोड़ रुपए दिए गए थे।

अब समुद्र मंथन स्कीम में 84,084 करोड़ रुपए दिए जाने हैं। इसकी कई प्रक्रियाएं हैं, जिसमें पहले ब्लॉक खरीदे जाते हैं, फिर environment clearance लिया जाता है।

लेकिन अडानी को पहले से ही हर तरह के clearance मिले हुए हैं और उनके तीन ब्लॉक पूरी तरह से तैयार हैं।

यानी- समुद्र मंथन स्कीम के बारे में जैसे ही सरकार जानकारी देती है, वैसे ही प्रणव अडानी ट्वीट करके नरेंद्र मोदी की तारीफ करते हैं।

While we discuss the moral lessons by Subhash Chandra and Zee group, it is good to remind ourselves of how he became an MP.

This is also about EC's role in ensuring people's mandate.

Year: June 2016
Election: Rajya Sabha seat
Electorate: 90 MLAs.
State: Haryana
Vacancies: 2 seats.
Contestants: Birender Singh (BS), a BJP candidate
Subhash Chandra - Independent; with BJP support.
RK Anand - Independent; Cong+INLD support.

Round 1: The Haryana Assembly has 90 members. BS got 40 votes, Anand got 21 votes and Chandra got 15 votes. 14 votes were rejected.

Round 2: With 14 votes rejected, BS needed only 26 to win. So, BS transferred the remaining 14 votes to Chandra as he was the second option marked by BJP MLAs. Chandra thus ended up with 29 votes. The third candidate, RK Anand, stayed put at 21 votes.

The Fairness: The EC gave a Violet Ink Pen and instructed all MLAs to use that one for voting. Every MLA would vote and pass on that pen for the next MLA to use it. The BJP MLAs used it. The INLD MLAs also used it. The last BJP MLA after casting his vote, changed the pen and passed on a black ink pen to the next in line Congress MLA. And that black ink pen was passed on by every Cong MLA to the next one. 14 passes in all. 14 votes in all. And all those 14 votes were declared invalid by the EC.

Subhash Chandra won. BJP won. Congress lost. INLD lost. Cong charged EC official of fraud. They asked how was the pen changed without the EC noticing it? Imagine a invalid ballot box being used under EC supervision and we all merrily vote.

That is the story of Subhash Chandra, ethics and also about our election commission.
