He says, "I've spent a better part of my life talking to young people like you, I'd say thank you, because you kept me going, for 75 years of writing books, like this one, and others, I've written a couple of hundred since I began. When I was your age, I began right here in Dehradun. I was good in English, History, Geography, well I have to confess, I couldn't pass in Maths or Physics or Chemistry. I thought wiser thing would be to be a writer, so I started writing stories. In the beginning, it was hard to get them published... You didn't get paid much those days... But anyways, in Rs 5, you could get many things, nowadays you need more money. Next week I'll be 92. I began when I was 17. I hope I will be writing longer, let's see how it goes, life has been good to me. Friendship is important. This is about friendship."
