I am not the first to see that Yhwh is not Abba.

Cerdo and Marcion saw the split in the second century. The violent lawgiver in the Hebrew Bible was not the Father Jesus revealed. Marcion called him a lesser creator - harsh, judging and bound to law.

The Christians behind The Secret Book of John went further. They called the creator Yaldabaoth - blind, jealous, false and hostile to humanity.

The Bogomils said Satan made and ruled the visible world.

Many Cathars identified the god of the Old Testament with that evil power - Satan - while holding to the good Father revealed through Jesus.

What did Christianity do?

It called them heretics.

It drove them underground.

It destroyed their books.

It imprisoned and burned them.

Rome launched a crusade against Cathar lands. Then came the Inquisition. Their communities were crushed. Much of their own voice disappeared. Their enemies wrote the history.

The details differed. I don't agree on all points. The charge remains:

YHWH IS NOT ABBA.

THE LAWGIVER IS NOT THE FATHER.

THE ACCUSER IS NOT THE ONE JESUS REVEALED.

I am not inventing a new heresy.

I am saying aloud what others saw before me - and what Christianity tried to erase.
