Prior to Trump being elected, leftists loved Russia. Democrats took in millions of dollars from Russian oligarchs, they hit the reset button, laughed when Russian was called an enemy, and pushed to ease sanctions. Trump was elected, a false “Russian collusion” narrative was cooked up, with Hillary Clinton blaming Trump and collusion for her failed presidential bid. Leftists then decided that Russia was the root of all evil. Next, Putin invaded Ukraine. Leftists then blamed Trump for the invasion (lmao), and leftists fell all over themselves to support Ukraine. This came AFTER a time in which they absolutely did not give a shit when Putin annexed Crimea. In essence, for leftists, supporting Ukraine is a show of hatred for Donald Trump. For them, flying to Ukraine to help fight the Russians is the same as fighting Donald Trump. Killing Russians is the same as k^lling Trump. Since Ryan Routh was unable to kill Russians, because Ukraine wouldn’t let him fight, he did the “next best thing. He tried to k^ll Trump, but just as he failed to kill Russians, he also failed with Trump.

So, yes. There are strong political implications here. Routh swallowed leftist propaganda. He developed a deep seated hatred for Trump, which was driven by Hillary Clinton’s Russian collusion narrative. He listened to Joe Biden calling Trump a “threat to democracy.” His hatred compelled him to go all the way to Ukraine to take up arms against Russia. Where was he during the invasion of Crimea, by the way? Failing in Ukraine, he came home to try to kill a man he views as being “Putin’s b^tch.” Who is to blame for this? Democrats.
