In just under two weeks, ROOKIE offensive lineman Keylan Rutledge has shown more grit & tenacity than we’ve seen from a Texans offensive lineman in a long time.
He’s gone toe-to-toe with Azeez Al-Shaair, known as one of the fiercest players in the league; Danielle Hunter, whose nickname is literally “Cyborg” (enough said); and Will Anderson Jr. (no anecdote needed).
That obviously doesn’t guarantee high level OL play, but Rutledge’s mentality to play to “the echo of the whistle” at the very least brings an edge to an offensive line that DeMeco Ryans has been searching for for multiple years.
It’s both crazy & impressive to think that a 1st round rookie is the guy who finally changes the mindset and culture of the Texans offensive line.
I don't understand how this is even possible.
- I witnessed the deaths of Michael Jackson,Maradona, Pelé, and Queen Elizabeth!
- I lived through three different popes.
- I survived a global pandemic, and watched the internet come to life.
- I saw CDs become Spotify, DVDs become Netflix, and landlines become iPhones and now, I'm witnessing the rise of artificial intelligence.
AND I’M JUST IN MY EARLY 30s.
