Favourite crossover of all time - Kurt Cobain and Jenny Holzer. This series of photographs was taken expressly for me to discover them decades later. In fact the internet also was invented for that reason.
Vijay Joseph promised to give ₹2500 per month to women in Tamil Nadu in his manifesto.
This Vijay Joseph's fan girl is very happy and explaining that Vijay Joseph's TVK will pay this money to women from their own pocket and not from taxpayers money like DMK or AIADMK.
GOD SAVE TAMIL NADU.
I wasn't surprised by this result at all, I don't know how people are saying they didn't see it coming. The vijay fever was palpable, atleast in chennai. Mostly obsessive fandom, but also some who felt the local dmk cadre did too much gundagardi. Which is valid.
TN is as dumb as most of India but diFfErEnT.
Or worse actually. Atleast the bjp has a clear ideology, if evil. And some credentials. TN has voted for ✨vibes✨ & maybe because their kids threw tantrums (because Vijay mama asked them to) or threatened to poison them.
Oh well.
I personally know some Govt teachers who voted against DMK because the Education ministry was hard on them and kept pressuring them for results and had constant supervision. 🫠
Look at this poster someone's local theatre made 8 years ago for a screening of Fire Walk With Me :D from reddit. (And what a stunner of a film. So visceral the pain. But if David lynch has so much empathy why he signed that polanski petition etc.)
Saw this today (in a theatre thankfully). Some movies are less story and more vehicles for important ideas and that's great. Also some interesting things are happening with music in cinema these days - home and abroad. And RIP softbois, I think the zeitgeist has a new type.
Since I understand exactly what is happening in Twin Peaks (not confused at all, not my 2nd time watching at aaall) I can also take in the beauty of the camera work, the music, and, the Sheriff. Where have all the cowboys gone.
Both so effective. I think that scene in Hamnet is the whole and only point of the film. And it's a point well and convincingly made. I felt depleted by it. But some catharsis definitely happened and Aristotle etc.
The ending of Hamnet reminded me so much of the scene in Midsommar with all the women wailing with Dani. I guess being in an audience is a bit like being in a cult (for a short time)
I ❤️ The History of Sound so much. Try to see it in theatres. Slightly censored I think but still very, very beautiful.
😭😭😭😭😭/5
(Ordinary crying)
(Explaining emojis means I'm officially out of the game I think)
Speaking of Irish accents (who spoke of Irish accents? Me. I'm always speaking of Irish accents) here's a movie with really bad ones (even I can tell) but I'm really enamored by it (and judging by the reviews I might be the only one)
