๐ Exciting news! I'm in the first cohort of *The Attribution Masterclass* led by Timo Dechau and Barbara Galiza!
My latest blog shares notes from the first meetup: https://t.co/A4TbK3YCTb
I recommend signing up for the masterclass: https://t.co/uetdGduzs9
๐ I hate the gcd parameter of Google Analytics 4, hard to read and intepret.
๐ Playing with the table provided by Markus Baersch in a guest post on Simo Ahava's blog, I've found a pattern to understand the parameter with no need for references.

Campaign tracking is getting new importance. I wrote a Python script taking a list of source, medium and campaign parameters and assigning them to GA4 default channel groups.

"Think of the role measurement plays in marketing as sailing with a compass. [...] Although the compassโs dial may flicker from time to time, analysts can trust and depend on its guidance." [Kevin Hartman]

Here's how to convert a GTM JSON file to an Excel file overcoming cell characters limits using KNIME Analytics Platform.
In brief, this is un update of a simple KNIME application I made some time ago.

really believed that an update to Looker Studio GA4 connector is on the way, and will be released by the end of the month.
Today it indeed rolled out. 100+ new dimensions and metrics were added - and yes, including the Bounce rate! Go check it out.
I hope this email and URL redaction option in #GA4 rolls out everywhere soon. I'm only seeing it on the Google Merchandise store, not in any of my other properties.
Dear Google Analytics 4.
My latest article is a ranty rant rant about the current state of things, a nostalgic look at the past, and a hopeful look into the future.

This very morning I was talking about next deadlines for GA4 to an e-commerce community guessing the deadline was expected at the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024. Perfect timing :D
Google Analytics has finally put a date on the loss of historical data: For free customers, you will stop collecting data in Universal Analytics as of July 1, 2023.
But you will still have access to view and export all previous data until July 1, 2024: https://t.co/8bXO7FNQj8
You can now change the counting method for conversions in GA4. There is a new once per session option (similar to how Universal Analytics worked).

Please @googleanalytics be careful using AI automatic translations for your documentation. Sometimes it's better to let us switch to English in case you are not sure about the end result. I find a bit disappointing the API names are wrong in the case below!
