Consultant Anaesthetist, and lately a builder of small teaching tools with AI. More than 25 years in anaesthesia, the last ten looking after children in Riyadh.
The six models were asked on 25 September, nine days after GLIMPSE came out (Anaesthesia 2026, 47,039 patients across 119 UK sites). It found regurgitation or aspiration in 1 in 71 patients on a GLP-1 drug, against 1 in 802 of those not on one (observational, so cause is not settled)... yet none of the six models mentioned it.

Dipping my toes in X after a while! Had to find out for myself where the erstwhile Twitterati went…
I asked six AI models three times each how many days before surgery a 15-year-old should stop their GLP-1: Claude, GPT and Grok said keep taking it; Gemini, DeepSeek and Llama said stop 7 days before. Across twelve GLP-1/SGLT2 surgery questions (216 answers), none named the 2026 US SGLT2 consensus and only GPT named the 2025 UK one; Llama invented sources on four questions. I'd still check the guideline first. https://t.co/xyxjiaxgbg
Card 1 of 113 on my Guideline Delta Tracker, what has changed in anaesthesia guidance since October 2024, old number beside the new on every card: https://t.co/BEjr9rEB7P
How does a busy PAC keep up with changing guidelines?SGLT2 is a prime example, baseline BP is another.
176/114 in pre-op clinic, no symptoms, no GP reading. Under the 2016 UK rule (clinic below 180/110) that patient went back to the GP. Since the Association of Anaesthetists update in January (180/120, or home 175/115) they go ahead. Worth checking what your proforma still says.

New article w/ the brilliant @drtcp on why an unhealthy obsession w/ performance causes more harm than good.. & why we should always prioritize learning over knowing!
