I also don’t know how much I trust Posey to actually maximize Webb’s value and get a good trade return offer but that’s a whole other issue.

Both sides have a good argument on if we should trade Webb or not. Trading a frontline starter on a very reasonable contract thru 2028 would warrant a huge return. Minimum 3 T100 prospects including a T30. But trading Webb officially signals a rebuild.

Ultimately, I’d be okay with the team attempting to rebuild the rotation around Webb and try to compete the next few years. If it backfires, they could look to move him next season instead. But I’d also understand if there is an offer that is too good to refuse.
