a ésta hermana la han arrestado más veces por defender la humanidad que a los pederastas que siguen en cargos políticos aprobando que bombardeén civiles, realmente vivimos en el infierno
the fact the US used the full force of the federal government to eliminate the Black Panthers while the KKK is still running around tells you a lot about this country
Trump Accounts are no longer going to be optional- so if you ever plan on having a child in the USA, you should read what I found:
According to the @SocialSecurity Administration's announcement last week, they are modifying the hospital birth registration form so that a Trump Account is AUTOMATICALLY created for your child through that same process.
It will be bundled into the Enumeration at Birth program (EAB), which is the already automated gov pipeline that gives your newborn a Social Security number. It’s one box that you check, you don’t have the option of unbundling it. So if you want your kid to have a Social Security number, they have to have a Trump account.
Which is strange, because according to the IRS and @USTreasury’s public announcements, these accounts only open when a parent actively elects to open one. So which is it? Why is nobody in the government interested in explaining this flagrant contradiction?
Who is going to answer the basic question of what a parent does if they don’t want a government-linked investment account (one that collects biometric data, by the way) created for their child at the exact moment their child’s Social Security number issued?
They can call it a savings account all they want, but a $1,000 deposit is a hell of a cheap price for building a lifelong financial file on every American child before they can consent to anything.
And once the government normalizes linking a person’s identity, financial activity, and predictive systems from birth, who gets to decide what that data will be used to predict later?
We deserve answers immediately. @ndstudio@WhiteHouse
“When the last tree is cut, the last fish is caught, and the last river is polluted; when to breathe the air is sickening, you will realize, too late, that wealth is not in bank accounts and that you can’t eat money.”
Two protestors have climbed to the top of the Empire State Building with a flag that reads:
"When the power of love beats the love of power, the world will know peace."
.@elonmusk says that no one can name a person who died from his aid cuts. In fact, I've met the kids who are dying, and I've talked to the families who lost children. In my columns, I've cited many, many names of people who have died because of Musk's aid cuts. A few examples:
*Yamah Freeman was a 23-year-old woman who died in childbirth because Musk cut funding for the diesel for ambulances in her part of Liberia. She couldn't get to a hospital and died as people were carrying her there. I talked to her parents and sister in their village.
*Gbessey Kiadu, age 1, died of malaria because of his cuts to malaria medication in Liberia. I talked to his mom in her village.
*Ibrahim Koroma, an infant, died of AIDS in Sierra Leone after he interrupted HIV supplies. I talked to health workers who cared for him.
*Achol Deng was an 8-year-old girl with HIV in South Sudan who died when Musk cut funding for the health care worker who provided her medicines. I talked to the healthcare workers.
I could go on and on. In almost every village you go to in South Sudan, Uganda, Liberia, Sierra Leone or other countries I reported in, you find people dying because of aid cuts. I challenge Musk: Come with me on a reporting trip, and we'll talk to these moms and dads, and you'll see the dying children themselves. I think if you see the kids whose lives are at stake, maybe you'll change your mind.
BREAKING: In a landmark 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court rules that "geofence warrants," which allow law enforcement to collect sweeping smartphone location data over a broad area, constitute an "unreasonable search" and violate the Fourth Amendment.
i think people from the US officially lost their right to being smug and mock chinas authoritarian surveillance state the past decade or so
you have AI flock cameras, palantir, massive surveillance state, being slave to billionaires, cant even touch a pool of water
The infiltration of tech capital into the arts is so fucking pernicious. Like you know the reason none of the big studios/distributors want it is because they’re in bed with AI money and thereby incentivized to help manufacture consent.
Hayes: Endorsing against incumbents really is kind of the unwritten rule in this. Tish James, who was a very vocal backer of yours when you were running for mayor—and even a backer of yours when I think it was pretty politically controversial to be so—had this to say. She said she and other political leaders she’s spoken to are disappointed in Zohran Mamdani. “All of us are a little frustrated with the Democratic Party, but you don’t blow it up. That’s what MAGA has done.” What do you say to that?
Mamdani: I think, what is the Democratic Party if not its voters? And what we saw yesterday evening were Democrats across the city turning out and voting for a new kind of politics.
And I’ve been clear time and time again that I believe the only majority in our country is that of the working class. And what we saw is that a focus on the working class.
And I have a deep amount of respect for my friend, Attorney General James. And I also believe that these are the kinds of candidates that we need to see in Congress, as well as the five state legislative candidates that I endorsed that also won yesterday evening.
I made a promise to New Yorkers that I would use every tool at my disposal to actually transform this city into one that they could afford.
And one of those tools is using your political capital to ensure that the people who will fight hardest for that same agenda are going to be there, whether it’s in Albany or whether it’s in D.C.
