On United We Stand podcast (12:56) with the legend that is @AndyMitten. Great experience and pleasantly surprised that it wasn't cringe. Perhaps I should change careers!
Looking forward to attending my first ever @Conservatives party conference this week. I repeated my reasons for backing @KemiBadenoch in a new Telegraph article.
The Palestinians have rejected a state of their own more times than any national movement in modern history.
1937 — Peel: a Jewish state on a sliver of the coast. Arab leadership said no and turned back to violence.
1947 — UN partition plan: an Arab state beside a Jewish state. The Arab Higher Committee said no, started a civil war, and then five Arab armies invaded.
2000 — Camp David: a Palestinian state with a capital in eastern Jerusalem. Arafat walked, proposed no counteroffer, and launched the Second Intifada.
2001 — Clinton Parameters: a Palestinian state with a capital in eastern Jerusalem, 96% of the "West Bank" plus 4% of Israel, all of Gaza and a connecting corridor. Arafat said no as the Second Intifada raged.
2008 — Olmert: 94% of the “West Bank” plus land swaps to make up for the other 6%, a capital in East Jerusalem, and the Old City under an international committee. The PA, this time under Abbas, never even bothered to answer.
2020 — Trump’s plan: a Palestinian state, a capital in a part of East Jerusalem, and $50 billion in economic aid to build their country. Abbas called it the “slap of the century” in 2018, two years before the text existed. On the day it was released, he said “a thousand times no.” He refused Trump’s call and refused to even take a copy.
They do not keep saying no because the borders were wrong. They keep saying no because the real demand is not a state beside Israel. It is a state instead of Israel.
Watch the full documentary The Killing Roads, about the October 7th massacre.
Set aside the time to watch it through. Then share it with someone who knows the date but has only seen the headlines.
What do you notice about this picture?
You see, those arrested suspects have been stripped by the British law enforcement. Do you know why? To make sure they're not wearing suicide belts. Because jihadists have a reputation of blowing themselves up.
Now, you see, when the IDF did the same thing with Gazan terrorists during an active war, half of Britain cried genocide. Britain isn't even at war right now like Israel was.
Maybe Britain should worry about its own dire situation first before lecturing Israel about how a war should be fought.
The idea that Israel is responsible for a two state solution is so beyond parody by this point.
Jordan and Egypt controlled the West Bank and the Gaza Strip from 1948 to 1967, but they did not create an independent Palestinian state during that time.
Since the Six Day War in 1967, Palestinian leaders have officially rejected or walked away from at least 5 major peace proposals that would have established an independent Palestinian state.
Then October 7 happened. And Israel is left without a peace partner, because it cannot negotiate with Hamas or the weak Palestinian Authority.
So @Ed_Miliband what on earth are you talking about.
Bill Clinton: “The Palestinians were offered a state. They refused. A state wasn't their goal. Killing Jews was."
This must be shared every single day.
There is something disingenuous about invoking your Jewish identity when it lends moral authority to a policy on Israel, then invoking your distance from Jewish communal life when confronted with the fears of Jews who actually live with its consequences.
Miliband cared nothing about our energy security in his last job. Now he cares nothing about our national security.
But this amateur diplomat has bitten off more than he can chew by taking on the Israelis. His immoral and shameful policy has turned a close ally, with a strong security and intelligence relationship, into an adversary (let us hope not for ever) for nakedly domestic electoral reasons.
Today's announcement allows Labour to preen and posture, which is what they are best at, but will do nothing for peace in the Middle East, and damages our own national security into the bargain. Miliband is simply not up to the job.
