In this life, sha, don’t let anybody rush you.
At 33, with a first-class degree, I was still sleeping on my parents’ couch in Ebute Metta, trying to figure life out.
I didn’t get my dream job until I was 36. I got married at 35 and started married life in a room and parlour tiny rooms in Mushin.
I started a business at 38 and failed woefully.
I tried again in my 40s. Failed again.
At 46, I opened an art gallery at Adeniran Ogunsanya, Lagos. It failed too.
At 47, I returned to the yoghurt business. Failed again.
At 48, we started again.
Then, at almost 50, I was compulsorily retired from my job.
Instead of seeing it as the end, I went fully into the yoghurt business.
I relocated to the UK at almost 52.
By 54, we had recorded over ₦2 billion in sales.
So please, be inspired by other people’s success, but never allow their success to put you under pressure.
Some people bloom at 25.
Some at 35.
Some at 50.
Some even later.
Your timeline is different.
Keep learning.
Keep trying.
Keep failing forward.
Keep moving.
You are not late. You are still writing your story.
Good evening.😊
I have a close friend who used to post very old pictures of me on my birthdays. I know it wasn’t out of malice; probably just to show how far we’ve come, but it didn't sit well with me, so I had to tell him. It’s not that I’m ashamed of my past, but come on, I have newer, better-looking photos now. I’ve walked that path, and it belongs in the past. I’ve evolved.
Jim Iyke said something that applies perfectly here: avoid people who can’t see you beyond what they used to know about you, who still look at you through the same lens as ten years ago, regardless of how much you’ve achieved. That’s disrespect, and it’s being taken for granted.
I know a number of people who didn’t marry their “spec” but are in the healthiest marriages I know. Their spec was typically whatever was culturally deemed to be at the apex of the attractiveness pyramid when they were growing up. For a lot of guys in my generation, it was the music video “vixens” from the late 90s/early 2000s Hip & R&B music videos with ‘coke bottle figures’ and or light skinned eurocentric features. When it’s time to find a partner for the very serious endeavor of sharing a life with, that “spec” is simply inadequate as a measure of compatibility and that’s understandable. The foolishness though is communicating it as though their partner somehow didn’t measure up to their “spec” instead of simply admitting that the idea of their spec was stupid all along and a young boy’s lack of wisdom of what makes a good life partner.
Communicating publicly or even privately to your partner that they weren’t your spec to begin with may seem harmless, after-all you’re just being honest. But subconsciously, it’s an ego trip for you who “settled” and for your the partner, it’s a chip they will always carry on their shoulder that to you, they aren’t quite enough. They’re missing something you had always longed for, so much so that you still consider it to be your “spec”. It’s an unnecessary mind fuck and a cruel thing to say about somebody who is sharing a life with you. No matter how flowery you are with the compliments that come after. You’ve already knocked them down several pegs.
If the point is to say your spec changed then talk about the stupidity of having a spec to begin with. Because I’ve never heard anyone in these situations talk about character attributes being their spec, it’s always superficial stuff. Or speak about how meeting your partner opened your eyes to what true beauty is. Speak in ways that elevate and affirm your partner.
There is an urgent medical information I want to pass across. This will save your life, pls come close.
If you ever see rotten tomatoes that looks like these pictures I posted, or if you ever see onions with black spots on them or you see corn with mould on it,
PLEASE RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.
Why do I say this?
All these food items are contaminated with a poisonous fungus called AFLATOXINS.
Aflatoxins are notorious for increasing the risk of liver cancer. When you eat food that has this type of tomatoes, or you eat food cooked with this kind of onions or you eat this type of corn you are at risk of developing liver cancer.
Only eat fresh tomatoes, fresh onions and fresh corn. Avoid rotten tomatoes, blackened onions or corn with mould (even if they are cheaper to buy).
This is not a threat or a joke.
This is a real life serious medical issue.
Kindly share this information.
This babe said she wants the type of guy that would ask her if she is free in 2 weeks because he wants to fly her to Dubai and fly her first class. She said any man that flies her economy is a useless person.
Such a person cannot love you and has zero desire to love. This performative love that is Instagrammable is delusional.

There is a lady that loves Malta Guinness. My guy bought her two crates and she melted in his arms. I know another one that loves avocado and anytime her man buys avocado for her, she lights up like a child. True desire!
I always wonder if you people don't enjoy life's little pleasure. Don't you have something that you genuinely enjoy when nobody is watching? You see that mama that sells ewa agoyin and soft bread that you enjoy, tell your date you love her food. You love climbing trees and plucking ebelebo, tell your person. You enjoy the silliness of solidifying milo and chewing on it like a snack, tell your person. If you're afraid to tell your person what you really enjoy, it is not love. 1Jn 4:18 says "there is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."
Try to enjoy things that do not require external validation. A girl saw a public proposal and she spoke out that if she doesn't get something like this, she is not accepting it because she does not deserve less. Her friend asked her, would you be okay getting it if you won't have to post it on social media and she said No. So it is not that she actually likes it, she just wants to pepper people and get validation. Some of the thing you people crave, you do not really care about it. You just feel like it elevates you in people's eyes.
Don't murder the child in you trying to live up to external validation. Do the things that make the child in you, light up.
Yes. So we so-called ex-jehovah's witnesses left the religion because we wanted to fuck abi? LOL. I know this narrative and I know it well because I also used it when I was inside. Blood transfusion refusal is not even the most problematic part of your religion. My biggest problem is that millions of people are reliant on a group of men in the US who decide what the correct interpretation of the bible is, and that you cannot debate or question this because you are instructed to be "obedient to those taking the lead".
Remember that CT Russell founded this religion because he belonged to a group where he disagreed with their beliefs about the Bible. He left that group and started IBSA. Russell died. And "Judge" Rutherford with his heavy hand took over. He replaced locally elected elders with appointees from the headquarters, breaking away from Russell's democratic structure. JF Rutherford took over and wanted to distinguish himself from Russell and those who followed him. He tried to erase every trace of Russell, including changing key doctrines and beliefs preached by Russell. He disagreed with his former leader and began making sweeping changes. He turned it into a profitable, well run business, renamed the religion and introduced new strict cult-like rules, from rules around dress and clothing, to making sure every one preaches (useful for the growth of the religion) and many of the structures that are still around today. Around the early 1920s, Rutherford told staff at Bethel to shave their beards to distinguish themselves from "Russellites". I dare say that if Russell was alive when Rutherford took over he would have disagreed with a lot of things.
The problem is, even though Rutherford was able to disagree with his former boss, he gave no such latitude to anyone else. With Rutherford, there was no room for disagreement or debate. Rutherford remade the religion in his image and cast it in stone. It was only in December 2023 that the governing body reversed Rutherford's rule around keeping beards. That is how long Rutherford's legacy lasted, how long his shadow covered the organisation.
So beards. No beards. Back to beards. And you just have to follow. The fact that even attempting to debate anything that the governing body says is deemed disobedience (you can even be subject to a judicial committee and disfellowshipping if you question what the governing body says) is for me what makes this religion like a cult. I just refuse to believe that even if there is a god, he speaks exclusively through these few old men in the US. And that if some new people show up or change their mind it can have far reaching consequences on your life, including leading to your death as in the case of blood transfusion.
But you can't see this now because you have been indoctrinated. If you are lucky, one day, you will leave and then see it all. I hope you can find the will and strength to see clearly some day.
