Ours is a real tragedy. A struggling third world economy is in perpetual political survival mode, firmly thrust into that clutch by the very same people who are entrusted with its economic development. Its a vicious cycle.
Fellow Zimbabweans, comrades, and defenders of the 2013 Constitution,I have read the details of this CAB3 madness, and I must speak plainly as an old soldier who fought for Zimbabwe's liberation, not for any man's dynasty.
What we are witnessing is not governance. It is a brazen constitutional heist, orchestrated by Emmerson Mnangagwa and his inner Zvigananda circle, aided by a cabal of businessmen turned political fixers.
The father behind this chaos is clear: it is Mnangagwa himself, pushing through amendments that smell of self-preservation rather than national interest.
The allegations of cash, luxury vehicles like those 2026 Toyota Fortuners, and large sums handed to MPs including CCC representatives such as Samantha Mureyani, Remigious Matangira, and Susan Matsunga are deeply disturbing.
Public "gifts" from Zvigananda Cartel, timed with support for the Bill, raise serious questions under our laws. Section 18 of the Privileges, Immunities and Powers of Parliament Act and anti-bribery provisions in the Criminal Law Code exist for a reason: to prevent exactly this kind of inducement.
A vote secured with keys to a Fortuner and US$50,000 envelopes is not a free vote. It is tainted.
Zvigananda Cartel in this network have long been whispered about in connection with influence, resources, and proximity to power. Whether through gold dealings, sanctions-busting networks, or "philanthropy" that conveniently aligns with political outcomes, their role in bankrolling this process demands full scrutiny by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC), the courts, and Parliament's privileges committee.
No one is above the law not MPs who accept such benefits, and certainly not those directing the operation. The Bill's core problems go deeper than these scandals:
It seeks to extend terms and alter presidential election methods in ways that many legal voices say circumvent the spirit of the Constitution, potentially requiring a referendum.
The "notwithstanding" clauses trying to let incumbents benefit from term-limit changes are constitutionally suspect.
The entire process has been rushed amid opposition fractures, recalls, and captured votes, undermining the two-thirds majority's legitimacy if bribery taints it.
I have said it before and I repeat it again Mnangagwa does not trust the people to choose their leader freely in 2028.
That is why this push for extra time and parliamentary election of the President. As a retired soldier, I swore an oath to the Constitution and the people of Zimbabwe, not to any individual or faction.
Liberation veterans and ordinary citizens see through this. The Constitution belongs to all of us it is not personal property to be amended for one man's third term ambitions or his family's succession plans.
Legal challenges are coming criminal complaints, court applications to nullify tainted votes, privileges inquiries. They must proceed without fear or favour.
MPs with pecuniary interests must step aside from further proceedings on this Bill. Any vote "bought by cash and keys" cannot count toward the constitutional threshold.
Zimbabwe is not for sale. We did not shed blood in the bush to replace one form of misrule with another dressed up as "reform." The people are watching.
The courts must uphold the Constitution. And those pushing this power grab must know: history judges those who put personal power above the nation.Aluta continua. The struggle for genuine constitutionalism continues.

There are things I sware were not possible under our constitution but I have come to the sad realization that a Constitution can just be another piece of paper in the real sense.
@nompum73279@freemufumiri You really need to study and understand the dynamics of Zimbabwean politics. You also need to understand the stage we are at.
The rate at which ED is going, if not stopped, will declare Zimbabwe a monarchy. The fella hates elections hence his spirited ploy to make himself Munhumutapa, an unelected leader of Zimbabwe.
The problem with Zimbabweans kunonoka kuonera mbavha ichitiza nechinhu.
When I mentioned that ED wanted to make Zimbabwe a monarchy last year in October, many Zimbabweans dismissed my observation.
This year, the 15th of September, ED's birthday, will be a national holiday christened Munhumutapa Day. This will happen if the rogue president is not stopped.
To pave his way, ED has sent a fore-runner, some Chiminya guy, his in-laws from his union with Deputy Minister Kudakwashe David Mnangagwa's mother. Recently, we read a judgement which declared the charlatan, King Munhumutapa.
If we don't act to stop ED now, it might be late when everyone finally open their eyes to ED's mischief.

@caesarzvayi What ever the outcome of CAB3 people dont seem to realise what has just happened to the Office of President of Zimbabwe. It will require some effort to restore its dignity.

This morning I want to raise alarm on lost income to the Exchequer on the subject
of TAXATION of gifts . A gift is deemed income beyond certain value thresholds , a gift is deemed a sale , therefore the value of the gift should be taxed in the hands of the Recipient at fair market value . Are the values of these gifts we read so much about taxable according to the Income Tax Act ?
Simple logic , if you give your child an immovable property the fair market value is not tax free under the Capital Gains Act (Chapter 23:01). It is a deemed sale .
So many assets are exchanging hands in the name of Donations and Gifts , Cars, pieces of land etc , is the interest of ZIMRA invited to assess market value and tax the Recipients accordingly ?
