I’m Gilbert Nsabimana from Rwanda, raising support for my basic monthly living expenses. I’m grateful to anyone who takes a moment to share or donate through my GoFundMe page. #MonthlySupport https://t.co/pn7cchaIn6
Rwanda has met the global 95-95-95 HIV targets.
And young people are still the ones falling out of care.
Rwanda Biomedical Centre's 2024/25 report shows:
→ 96-98-98 across the national HIV cascade
→ only 75% ART coverage among children aged 0-14
→ loss to follow-up still high at ages 15-24
→ viral suppression under 25 still below 95%
That's the gap we work in.
Rwanda Biomedical Centre formally classifies Dream Village under two national technical groups: HIV Prevention, and HIV Care & Treatment.
We built our work to hand a young person from one stage to the next:
1️⃣ Prevention: AGYW programme under Global Fund GC7 in 3 districts + CSE across 12 health centres
2️⃣ Testing: 325 young people tested after CATS mobilisation, 42 who tested positive linked to care
3️⃣ Care: 12 CATS across 12 Kigali health facilities, 3,582 contacts and 335 home visits
4️⃣ Suppression: 90% average viral suppression (June 2026)
5️⃣ Transition: 339 young people moved on to adult care (RBC 2024/25)
RBC's own report independently records 2,711 of 3,216 young people virally suppressed in Dream Village-supported care.
One thing most guidance misses: prevention, testing and treatment aren't three separate topics for a young person. They're one afternoon at one health centre.
About Dream Village: we are a government-recognised, youth-led organisation founded in Kigali in 2016 by Norman Manzi. Our Community Adolescent Treatment Supporters (CATS) model, adapted from Zvandiri/Africaid in 2019 and endorsed by RBC for national scale-up, runs inside 12 public health facilities across Gasabo, Kicukiro and Nyarugenge. We sit on Rwanda's Technical Working Group on HIV Prevention, Care & Treatment, implement the government's AGYW programme in Rwamagana, Kayonza and Kamonyi, and also run youth skills hubs and a farm that feeds young people on treatment.

Question for HIV programme practitioners: where do you see young people drop out first, at testing, at linkage, or at the move to adult care?
