@hrachcz But the performance trade-off is not so simple. Yes, no need to read and cache, but you pay by code size and during development, you have to compile all this code, there is a performance hit if you add all material icons. Code just not a very efficient way to store vector paths.
@STMC_Dorset@LAFadhel@Android MSN Messenger was so ahead of its time, sad that Microsoft couldn't keep it strong until the mobile revolution, it could beat all other services
@LAFadhel@Android Also, I want to be clear, my original message was not to say that everyone should use RCS, not at all, it's terrible and huge Google's mistake, and their current push is just fight for US users with Apple, nothing more
@LAFadhel@Android I also would be fine if Apple made iMessage cross platform, to compete with other messaging services, but it would never happen and I'm very doubtful that they could make good Windows/Android/Web apps
@LAFadhel@Android I would be for a standard, but there is 0 chance of an open standard developer by Apple for messaging, and Google bet on RCS is just stupid (operator lock)
I use a few messaging apps, and all work seamlessly for messaging, not sure what is so magical about iMessage
@Zhuinden @MarioLRobert @LeoIsTallish It's very unlikely, but it could build at the same time, but it still requires a lot of specific conditions to be slower (for some reason every single module involved)
Glad to see your benchmark for this claim, and not that you are just saying nonsense
@funyin_kash@attilablenesi It's an improvement for IDE support and code completion. If you target your project to prepare build configuration faster on first usage, then well, indeed Kotlin is slower
@Quentin23Soleil@martinbonnin@attilablenesi If you do not change it often, you probably change buildSrc even less often which is what the benchmark from the link is showing and it's not a problem for you
@donnfelker MacOS is not Linux based, even close
I also really doubt that there is any legal way to run MacOS apps, even if it will be technically possible it will never be stable (it will be essentially something like Wine for Mac) and Apple will sue developers next day anyway
