@MotolBrett @magatsuizanyagi After the release of DQ3, Miyamoto said that it influenced them at Nintendo going forward, regarding scenario writing. Miyazaki of From Software fame has cited DQ3 as one of his biggest inspirations. This isn't even touching FF, Pokemon or EarthBound.

@Sebbywebz The Dragon Quest part is disingenuous. FF1 came out barely 2 months before DQ3, and DQ3 was way more advanced than the OG FF.

I understand wanting to represent FF, but this comparison to the OG DQ doesn't make sense. DQ is a series worth looking into.

MonHum Wilds in Japan sold 600k physical in the first week, and DQ3 Remake sole 800k physical first week. There hasn't been a new DQ in over 8 years lol
