Jimmy Carter lived to be 100, the last 10 with metastatic melanoma, and the last year in hospice. He embodied so much of what is now central to cancer care in our country: most patients are over 65 and nearly 70% of cancer survivors are over this age. So this article arriving in my mail today is amazingly prescient and welcomed.
