Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was told by an NFL official to remove the name of Wafaa Akila, an 8-year-old Palestinian girl killed in Gaza, from his eye black during the Texans’ Week 2 game or he would not be allowed to continue playing, according to a league source.
According to Reuters, Wafaa Akila was killed earlier this month by an Israeli airstrike.

Youth soccer (youth sports) is a competitive market with businesses selling a product that obviously customers are willing to pay for. I’d love if soccer was free to all. But who is going to pay for all this free soccer?
@Nate_Tice Cool - largely agree (l thought it was a red, even if Balogun was unfortunate). Fine with reviews, furious with arbitrary suspended sentences, slightly amused that US soccer agreed to pay the $40,000 fine - doesn’t help them beat the allegations, so to speak.
@Nate_Tice Just disheartening when several NFL analysts I admire for their curiosity and willingness to find new ways to look at the sport start sounding like this guy when USMNT receive a debatable red card. Hoping I’ve missed a Chris Hemsworth reference.
