They're trying to give a guy 10 years in prison for ripping a piece of already-peeling sealant, after pardoning people who beat cops and stormed the Capitol in an attempt to overturn a democratic election. What a screwed-up administration.
State ownership of companies is communism.
Shocking to me how passive Republicans have reacted to these Trump actions. I thought they believed in capitalism, free enterprise, and the like.
I found the dumbest guy on planet earth. Y'all know that Fossil fuels are subsidized 3X more than solar and wind right? If we are ending government subsidies then let's end them *all*. Solar and wind will still come out ahead. @SecretaryWright
The FBI reportedly reassigned 260 intelligence analysts nationwide to a priority investigation into Georgia's already-recounted 2020 election, with an internal memo directing 708 records checks per analyst by July 17.
This comes after multiple recounts, audits, court cases, and investigations found no outcome-changing fraud in Georgia. Meanwhile, reporting shows the original Fulton County search warrant relied in part on claims that had already been debunked.
If true, that's an extraordinary commitment of federal resources toward re-investigating an election settled years ago instead of focusing on current threats to election security, cyberattacks, organized crime, or counterintelligence.
Americans deserve an FBI that follows credible new evidence, not one that keeps reopening political grievances that have already been tested again and again.
The whole thing is obviously comical, but the fact that the political officials clearly ordered the Department of Energy to delete a recommendation made by actual experts just because of partisan politics is actually pretty bad.
By David Abbruzzes:
This Australian's reply to Trump's rant about “NATO not being there for America” is perfect.
"Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage.
You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail.
Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates.
Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you.
And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban thanked you very much for losing again.
And you're calling Greenland poorly run?
Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no.
'NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years.
And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess.
So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your f----- mouth."
Very well stated.
At this point, these people should get awarded the Chinese version of the Medal of Honor because no one is doing more to position China to own the future than America's Republican Party.
China added over 543 Gigawatts to their grid last year. 434 GW was renewables because they are faster to build. The U.S. added a paltry 53 GW. We are losing the “AI race” to China because these idiots hate green energy. This is suicide by stupid.
Trump’s financial disclosures highlight an administration built around corruption and self-enrichment at the expense of the American people.

Left: JD Vance claiming he'd love "if Democrats were willing to work with us on lowering housing prices" to have some "real bipartisan compromise"
Right: Trump refusing to sign the bipartisan bill to lower housing prices, calling it "unimportant" and a "big yawn"
#BREAKING: Psaki: “Do you remember last year when Trump announced his massive across the board tariffs…He called it liberation day, it actually led to a stock market crash. That liberation day announcement was made on April 2nd of last year, and Trump’s financial disclosures show that he made 327 stock purchases six days later, on April 8th, while the market was down…So he makes those purchases on April 8th. The next morning, just after the market opened, he told his followers on Truth social: ‘THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO BUY.’ Hours later, he paused his tariffs and the stock market had a historic rally, so historic in fact, it represented the biggest single day gain in the history of the Bloomberg billionaires index. To put it simply, it appears an official act by Trump cratered the stock market. Trump then bought the dip and then used another official act to bring the price of the market back up. Trump of course insists that all his stock transactions are handled by his two adult sons [@EricTrump & @DonaldJTrumpJr] without his involvement or knowledge of the individual trades carried out on his behalf. When asked about the timing of these specific trades, the White House told us tonight that President Trump only acts in the best interests of the American public, saying there was no conflict of interest. The White House also directed us to the Trump Organization. We’ve reached out to them, but we haven’t heard [anything] back.”🤦♀️
