#WorldSleepDay is a great day to ask: what questions do you want research to answer about mental heath, sleep and daily rhythms?
We want to know what questions are important to you.

How do we translate advances in sleep and circadian biology, into better understanding and treatment of mental disorders?
In this PNAS perspective, we argue for longitudinal, real-world studies across the lifespan, that better integrate sleep and circadian traditions.

@tompollak To throw spanner in works, the Japanese gyoza derives from the Chinese jiaozi, and the Japanese also have a manju, not unlike Mandu. The Nepalese have momos, which is interestingly the Japanese for ‘peach’. There’s a phd, or at least MSc project, in there..

@TGBoden @NTPriorPark They look like deliquescing shaggy inkcaps to me... Good eating before they start dissolving. @TGBoden you have clearly been neglecting to read your copy of Entangled Life by @merlinsheldrake.. 😉
@haariet@NC_Jacobson@dan_w_joyce@jamesmaccabe Thanks Harriet - yes there are good arguments for introducing sleep-circadian interventions (using CBT for insomnia, light interventions, pharmacology) for improving clinical stability, and also acutely, when someone is deteriorating, to avert relapse..

@SiobhanGee Thanks- v important to know; expect we’ll be seeing increasing numbers of red results with low wcc/lymphocytes but normal neuts, in coming weeks..
Meyer et al review sleep disturbances in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Both conditions show longer overall sleep duration, as well as disturbed initiation, continuity, and reduced motor activity. Further development of transdiagnostic interventions is needed.
