On this National 529 Day, State Treasurer Larry Pack presented a $10,000 check to the 2026 SMART529 "Fund the Future" Sweepstakes winner Ellie Ryba, a 9th grade student at University High School in Morgantown.

The check was presented to Ellie at her family's business Fat Angelo's Pizza in Westover.

Carter was named “Defender of the Year” for his middle school soccer team. 🎉⚽️🏆 His coach called him “the rock” of the defense. Thanks to his coaches and teammates for a fun season. ⚽️❤️

For almost two decades, the West Virginia State Treasurer’s Office has empowered West Virginia students with personal financial education through its one-of-a-kind 'Get a Life' budget simulation program.

On Tuesday, Wood County Christian School and Parkersburg Catholic High School participated in the program with Treasurer Pack in attendance. We will be coming to a school near you this Spring!
