Despite it being last years form, if TEES GEORGE can run well then SUNNY ORANGE will have a chance too. The pair met last summer, bizarrely almost off identical marks, and were separated by just 3/4 length with Sunny Orange coming off the better. This horse has been in my tracker since the end of last season, when catching the eye at Pontefract, rated 59, and off 1lb lower here it’s good to see he was given an easy time on seasonal debut at Thirsk last time out. That 7f trip would have been on the short side for this horse, who almost certainly would have needed the run, and he was given no more than hands and heels treatment by Duran Fentiman who rides again today. He’s still 2lb higher than his last winning mark, so may be here to lose, but it’s not the deepest of races and he’ll be towards the front of the pack from stall 4. It shouldn’t take a great deal of winning.

Bet I’ve taken in the Conference league qualifier Shelbourne v Linfield tomorrow:

Shelbourne -0.5 AH 1.900

Shelbourne -2 Corner Handicap 2.20

These two sides met last month in the early UCL qualifying round and despite it being a narrow 2-1 aggregate win for Shelbourne, the underlying data across the two legs paints a very one sided story:

Shelbourne dominated both legs and won the shot count 27-10 and the corner count 16-3. The standard of the League of Ireland is fairly superior compared to the teams up north and historically they seem to have the upper hand.

Another recent example was when Larne hosted Shamrock Rovers last season in the league stage of the ECF and were humbled 4-1.

I think Shelbourne will be too strong again, especially at home. It’s rare to get such recent data in European qualifying tie like this so surprised to see the odds as favourable to Shelbourne as they are.
