@sitsio @michaeljknowles Nah, this uses two fallacies: an appeal to tradition (“the saints used it, so it must be best”) and a faulty premise, namely the saints didn’t all have the same liturgy anyway. Old isn’t automatically superior. This is just a ‘good old days’ appeal to emotion argument.

@sitsio Come & see is from the Gospel and is Jesus’ response to the question ‘where do you live’ in the first chapter of John. It is Jesus’ invite to learning more and we read immediately after this narrative of new disciples who took up Jesus’ offer. Not a bad slogan for RE in schools.

@RealAtheology I think it would lead to some robust and fair conversations, and probably one of the better RCIA experiences for all! Many catechumens don’t give enough time considering why they hold their beliefs. A confident respectful atheist in the group has a potential to useful!
