Recently, the Philippines Coast Guard discovered heaps of crushed corals piled on the sea floor at the Escoda/Sabina Shoal.

The continued swarming for an indiscriminate illegal and destructive fishing activities of the Chinese Maritime Militia in West Philippine Sea has caused unprecedented & irreversible damage to the marine environment.

China has buried more than 4,600 acres (about 19 square kilometers) of coral reef in the South China Sea since 2013 through dredging & land filling for the construction of the so called "artificial Islands".

The damage caused by the Chinese fishing militia is even worse. According to an AMTI report, Chinese vessels harvesting giant clams damaged 16,353 acres (66 square kilometers) of coral reef in South China Sea.
