Dear Mr Chibnall,
I am so sorry for saying "it can only go up from here" in 2021.
I did not realise it could also go sideways.
Yours truly,
@gitbranchsoul
You have a random newborn baby and a microwave: every second you put the baby in the microwave earns you $1 million. For how many seconds do you put the baby in the microwave?
Pixar were considered absolute miracle-workers, with double the budget. Shrek was a mid-budget feature for Dreamworks. Ice Age had a comparable budget and came out the next year - that's a better look at what realistic human face and hair rendering looked like at the time, IMO
(stuck in a time loop) Sweetie, I’ve lived this day hundreds of times. Look, that guy is gonna sneeze (doesn’t happen) ok this must be the beta timeline, so that car is gonna run a red light (doesn’t happen) (getting desperate, switching to my Yoda voice) Trust me here you must
@Brewers_Kitchen I've had so much fun with Antiquities on the Loose in the few games I've played it. It feels like there's a tonne of flexibility and decision-making in how to deploy it for maximum effect
@Shaggydreds Dropped a reply in the thread there. I'm in favour of the broad idea, but it specifically being a new 000-999 range rubs me the wrong way for both practical and flavour reasons. I've tried to explain why and suggest an alternative.
@chrysfolium@goreyuna Unicode sets a standard, then app developers and device manufacturers can choose to update to that standard on their own timeline. Same as any other software!
Unicode is a nonprofit organisation and isn't interested in pushing "mandatory" updates, it's an open-source resource.
