Honestly, it’s so frustrating that we have to say shit like “it could be you next, they could come for you.” It should be enough that Mahmoud Khalil is a person, that he has a child coming, that he has legal residence in this country.
Together with @PalStudies and @ArabCenter_en, we are co-organizing a workshop in Doha, Qatar that follows up the CfP on 'Gaza under Hamas' 👇🏻 that was launched a few months ago. The workshop is part of the Third Annual Palestine Forum, whose full programme can be found here: https://t.co/bdSeSpEhgH
If you happen to be around, go say hi to the guest editors of the Special Issue, @Hani_awwad@tarekhamoud321, and our editors @a_teti & @TariqNDana
Honored to write this blog post for @CmsReorient reflecting on Saba Mahmood's Politics of Piety. 20 years on, her work continues to shape my personal & professional journey. Grateful for the insights&conversations at the Critical Muslim Studies conference. https://t.co/JHbRAYoGem
🌍🇵🇸The passing of motions boycotting Israeli institutions is a call to dismantle the paradigm of indifference and impunity sustaining genocidal dystopia. Justice and solidarity are never "neutral" because there is nothing more political than war and genocide.
EASA members have passed the Motion concerning collaborations with Israeli academic institutions.
1455 members voted online (44.5% turnout), w/ 1137 (78%) voting in favour, 253 (17%) voting against, & 65 (4.5%) abstaining.

“Universities are not innocent spaces. They need to be (at the very least) apartheid free zones” - @FranceskAlbs’s clarity of vision should be a model for everyone, especially all university administrators
Please join us in the #DecolonialAnthropology Network a new space that we have just set up at @EASAinfo to rethink our work, histories and geographies.
Thanks to @diballestero and Erik Petschelies to initiate this conversation.
NEW: ‘A Cartography of Genocide’. Since October 2023, we have collected and analysed data related to Israel’s military campaign in Gaza. Our findings indicate that Israel has systematically targeted all aspects of civilian life. https://t.co/UUxYqpTF72
