It is so important that we are all educated on how to support our friends so we can be prepared to help them if they become victims fo sexual assault! #ItsNotOk#WGST106
It is crucial that victims of sexual assault have a safe place to get assistance, these programs are important to our society and should not face budget cuts! #WGST106
During COVID-19, we've seen an increase in the number of survivors seeking services from victim assistance programs, who now face devastating $ cuts.
@GovKathyHochul you’ve got a record budget surplus—now is NOT the time to cut funding for victim services! #SaveVOCA#FundTheGap
@Juliaadoyl@UN_Women@DoctorGladys This is so true, the only way we can help with climate change is if both men and women work together not against each other. #WGST106
We should be outraged that girls feel unsafe walking back home at night because they have heard horror stories of sexual assault at their own school. Why are the schools not doing more to stop this, they are in charge of the safety of ALL their students. #WGST106#wewantjustice
Sexual assault on college campuses is not a new issue but it is a persistent problem that wont go away. A recent study of 27 colleges and universities done by Adrienne Henry, found that approximately 27% of female seniors reported experiencing sexual assault. #WGST106#MeToo
Although 27% may not seem like a high number, in my opinion it is too high. We as women need to take a stand against campus sexual assaults and feel safe in our own schools. College is meant to be a place for education not trauma. #WGST106#MakeSchoolASaferPlace
We must question why it is so difficult for women to feel safe coming about their sexual assault stories, we can not blame them for feeling unsafe when our society consistently sides with the attacker not the victim! #WGST106#metoo
Yup! Let's add that there is been an uptick of 294+ protests, demonstrations, and vigils across U.S. schools led by students who are fed up and done with their schools sweeping sexual assault under the rug.
This is a public health crisis and it needs to be addressed NOW!
We are now entering 2022, and we will build on that support through gratitude, purpose, and transformation. We reaffirm our commitment to creating a world free from sexual violence.
Our #CenteringTheMargins framework will span movements, increase partnership and examine all
@an_wgst Stopping sexual violence needs to be a priority, there are too many women not seeing justice and being discouraged to tell their stories. #WGST106
Completely agree, we have made a lot of progress on women's rights but we still have a lot of work to do! Abortion should be up to the woman and no one else. #MyBodyMyChoice#WGST106
Abortion is our constitutional right. Every person should have the freedom and power to make their own personal, private decisions about their health, their body and their future.
