@leg_gully Maybe they are attacking shot % is also general much higher and hence the false shot % being higher as a result?
Also some types of false shots lead to more wkts that others I suppose and they choose where to be aggressive better? Like Vaibhav slashing short balls outside off?
Terrible analysis laced with snobbishness?
Increasing boundary per ball faced is not easy just because there is a license to swing the bat.
Also, while value of each wkt is lower in any 1 match, not true at season level. Failing batsmen will be replaced fast.
I enjoy T20 batting like I would a light snack. I find it hard to truly respect it.
Only because it’s ok to get out in T20s. It’s no big deal. No real backlash.
And that is why T20 batting excellence is far easier to achieve. Life is easier, when there isn’t much at stake. 😊
Wish to recommend this book by @sportstarweb called Miracle at Eden . It is edited by Ayon Dasgupta and it’s replete with daily match reports by the one and only @vijaylokapally with flowing prose . The images captured by VV Krishnan reputed photo journalist who himself narrates how he rushed to get his hands on some extra rolls of film once he saw the Laxman Dravid partnership unfolding and gave us some unforgettable frames to savour and cherish .
Do get your copy as soon as possible.
Without giving any spoilers including a small snapshot for my good friend @RaviTMandapaka and our shared hero !
25 years ago at Eden Gardens Rahul and I shared a partnership that will forever remain special. In a moment when the game looked beyond us we chose belief, patience and resilience. That stand was not just about runs but was about trust, teamwork and fighting for every session. Grateful to have shared that journey with Rahul and to be part of a Test that reminded us all that in cricket comebacks are always possible👍 @BCCI #PowerOfPartnership #Believe #Resilience
What will this look like for T20WC 26...if each point showing, for a family of high risk shots, actual runs per shot and actual wkts per shot...one dot for each team.
Wonder if India will be way to the bottom right ...that India's high risk shots execution is unmatched?
In time we need to put these world titles given out every year in proper perspective.
India’s T20 WC wins don’t come remotely close to their 50 overs WC wins of 1983 under Kapil Dev & 2011 under Dhoni in terms of its pure challenge & it’s sanctity.
This seems quite ridiculous.
Maha govt/VMC should put out a clear paper explaining to public why this is a better choice. Let there be public debate and consultation.
3-5X ing bus fleet capacity - BEST or Private under good policy terms will likely give far better results
What is the point of such performative 'lashing out'.
Govt should systematically improve procurement capability, including early punitive actions against contractors that seriously dissuade pre tender fixing and post award poor delivery.
Maharashtra CM @Dev_Fadnavis lashes out at contractors for slow pace of infrastructure development. Orders them to move quicker. Good decision.
One step he must add: Punish contractors and officers who do disasters. Example: The infamous Palava bridge that has shamed India.
What the courts should be looking at is not pricing and impose price controls that never work.
Rather look at regulatory barriers that prevent others from entering the sector.

What a six by Shafali (ball 14.3). Length ball angling in. Not much in it. Trusts her strength and hits it straight for six with minimal bar swing...awesome
Very nervous for Shafali. Her game is to plonk her front foot forward and swing through the line. Spectacular if it comes off, but teams have figured out that denying her length and angling into her body is the way to go. 🤞
Hey, going to do this as a thread, come watch along
Blatant chucking
This is the level of spin bowling in Pakistan clear chucking!
I really don't understand how the ICC allows this in international cricket.

Yesterday the tickets for the Women’s World Cup final at DY Patil Stadium were being sold at a cost of ₹150-₹500.
Now look at this, what a shameless exploitation. Don’t call it demand, it is daylight robbery.
Has anyone produced studies showing throughput of traffic has gone up or transit time has significantly reduced on building 'flyovers' along main arterial roads in Indian metros?
It somehow always feels like
Pain before flyover : 9/10
During building:12/10
After: 8/10
No ROI
Proud to say that in Hyderabad in the same timeframe, we have completed 32 Flyovers

It is funny how the people/companies currently ahead in the AI race keep trying to spook everyone.
Inviting regulation so they can solidify their lead behind regulatory protection?
Sam Altman outlines three major ways AI could go wrong.
First, AI works exactly as intended but bad actors use it for warfare or bioweapons.
Second, AI becomes agentic and resists human control, pursuing its goals unchecked.
Third, and most subtly, AI takes over by becoming too helpful until we all just follow its advice.
This last scenario may not feel like failure, but it quietly shifts control to the model.
