My favorite brand of neo-populist-conservative is the one that LOVES to revisit the constitution to be racist pigs. But GOD FORBID if you ask them to revisit the constitution to save children at school from gun violence.
The 14th Amd was never intended to allow any non-citizen to confer citizenship on her child (& thereby skip the line) by delivering the baby here. This Court majority - esp the squish conservatives - all too afraid of being called “racist” to find accordingly.
A real report: A dispute among Cabinet officials over who could ride in fighter jets flying over Washington on July Fourth escalated to Trump, who gave the go-ahead to acting attorney general Todd Blanche despite prior objections from Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. https://t.co/oiyCCJpNZz
Collins is going to win re-election, and she won't even need to campaign at all. Huge self own by Dems here. There were SO MANY opportunities to ditch this guy.
The red card was silly and served as another example of why FIFA needs to revise its rule book. But adding the precedent to reinstate the player now puts the whole team in a bad predicament. To the rest of the world, we again appear to be corrupting something to win.
Trump says he personally asked FIFA's president to review US striker Folarin Balogun's controversial red card, adding "I didn't think it was a foul" https://t.co/R7gyHF3KfA
Soccer's rules have always been notoriously vague. FYI, the last FIFA president was expelled for corruption. With more eyes on the sport and sports gambling becoming mainstream, the sport will have to make some MAJOR changes to these rules.
it is spectacular that there is an official article in the FIFA code which reads "we can do whatever we want, and no there doesn't have to be any justification for our actions lol lmao"
Example 1K why conservatives are cooked post-Trump. Gov stays limited? Gov grew its powers and deficit more so than at any time in history. There is no going back buddy...
"They claim they're progressive. They're really regressive." @RonDeSantis from Mount Rushmore on America's 250th. Rights come from God. Government stays limited. The Founders already rejected what the left is selling.
If FIFA wants to break into the US market they have to change these rules. Off sides is ruining the game. Red cards need to be decided by a multi review committee, similar to American Football calls.
During the Obama years, conservative radicalized because they couldn’t call Obama slurs without getting canceled. Now they’re radicalizing because this country’s legal system won’t let them go far right enough.
Mind you, Roberts, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch all put their support on the 14th amendment in a way ( to varying degrees). The fact that the right is solely focused on their only woman/non-white man justice, tells me EVERYTHING about who they are.
It turns out that Amy Coney Barrett is a DEI hire, little better than Kentanji Jackson. Terrible pick. When’s the last time we had a Republican president who didn’t put a liberal justice on the court?
Most interesting questions about Dems and 2028 aren't about the candidates, but about the ways Trump has changed the office. What powers would they assume? What would they give back?
Having a legally untouchable president who can bend companies to his will - pretty useful!
Humphrey's Executor is dead and the president can fire anyone in the executive branch at will but NOT Federal Reserve governors is really a parody of the difference between the money power and everything else in America
One of the saddest things about Trump's presidency is just the squandering of these incredible once-in-a-lifetime events that no one wants to attend or support because everyone hates him.
Trump: “Do you think people appreciate what a fantastic job we did in building and operating the Great American State Fair at the National Mall, packed with happy people, and everybody loving it? Ask yourself this simple question, ‘DO YOU THINK THAT OBUMA OR SLEEPY JOE BIDEN COULD HAVE DONE IT?’ THE ANSWER IS NO!”
For all the concerns and criticisms about Platner, I think Collins is the most vulnerable she has ever been. She is seen as a Trump supporter, even if she distances herself, and Trump is not on the ballot to drive conservative turnout.
