Bill Maher drops a reality bomb on Zohram Mamdani voters with a brutal history lesson on socialism.
“We’ve run this experiment many times, and the results are always obvious,” Maher said.
He looked straight into the camera and delivered a blunt warning about Mamdani.
“Democrats must recognize that Zohran Mamdani is the future of the party. Unfortunately, it’s the Republican Party.”
“Here’s capitalist South Korea at night from space,” Maher presented, showing a country lit up and thriving.
“Here’s socialist North Korea,” he followed, with the map pitch dark.
“Yeah. In 1990, Venezuela was wealthier than Poland. But then Poland, finally free of Soviet style economics, went all in on capitalism and now their economy is as big as Japan and people there have high wages, low inflation, cars, vacations, homes.”
“Meanwhile, Venezuela traded capitalism for Hugo Chavez’s socialism for the 21st century, which turned out to be like socialism in the last century or any century, a f*cking mess.”
“It turned one of Latin America’s richest countries into one of its poorest. Low wages, high inflation, shortages, outages, 8 million people fleeing. If you think New York can somehow reinvent this wheel, you’re in for a rude awokening.”
Thinking that country can run on breezes is worse than delusional
A two-megawatt windmill is made up of 260 tons of steel that required 300 tons of iron ore and 170 tons of coking coal, all mined, transported and produced by hydrocarbons.
They each consume 10'000 liters (more than 2600 gallons) of crude oil based lubricants per year.
When outdated, the wind turbines are being buried deep in forests, out of public view, due to the high costs associated with recycling them.
A windmill could spin until it falls apart and it will NEVER, EVER generate as much energy as it was used in building it.
“So here’s our GB Energy plan: Let’s ban new oil and gas licences in the North Sea and make thousands of oil and gas workers unemployed, but spaff away £40billion buying North Sea oil and gas from Norway. Let’s buy coking coal shipments worth £7.2million from Japan but ban UK coal mining. Let’s plaster thousands of acres of farmland with solar panels but spend £50million on sun dimming experiments. Let’s give Drax an estimated £1.8billlion in taxpayer funded subsidies on top of the £11billion it has already received despite Drax burning an amount of wood equivalent to 300 million trees. Let’s give £500million this year alone to wind power companies not to generate power from their wind turbines. And let’s spend £30billion of taxpayers’ money on carbon capture machines but put pensioners, farmers and the disabled into financial peril by claiming there’s a £22bn black hole.”
Wind turbines have a life span of approximately 20 years. Tens of thousands of old turbines could end up in landfill by the end of the decade. Turbine blades are set to account for more than 40 million tonnes of waste by 2050. Not exactly a sustainable outcome.
The jaw-dropping quantity of energy and resources required to construct just a single wind turbine.
But let's keep pretending these expensive, inefficient, bird and bat slaying monstrosities are "green" and "environmentally-friendly". 🤡
Shocking and shameful. The worst sort of adolescent class war politics. @NationalTheatre and @TheRSC should be ashamed. Maybe if some of the privately educated donors to these institutions withdrew their funding? https://t.co/MpfsRhyCCJ
The restoration of Richmond Station is GORGEOUS, unearthing its sleek early Moderne charms (bravo to all involved) but why oh why oh why is the forthcoming…
A stunning essay in the FT on the international decline in the ability to read, reason, focus, and learn new things.
It began or accelerated in the early 2010s.
It's hitting teens AND adults.
Self-report and objective scores.

The UK government is spending £22bn of public money on carbon capture machines. Yet, capturing CO2 emissions by direct-air-capture technology requires “almost as much energy as that contained in the fossil fuels that produced the CO2 in the first place. An exercise in futility.”
Ed Miliband's Net Zero delusion is fuelling Britain's biggest greenwashing scandal – burning millions of American trees at Drax while pretending it's clean energy. https://t.co/7fdhO60nRh
Award-winning journalist Alex Newman provides a FLAWLESS 90 second summary of the "man-made climate change" scam:
"The notion that CO2 is pollution is absolutely preposterous... The idea that [it's] going to destroy the planet or change the temperature of the Earth is totally ludicrous."
"But from a totalitarian perspective, if you can convince people that CO2 is pollution, there's no human activity that doesn't result in CO2 emissions, including living, including dying, turning on a light switch."
"Every single aspect of your life, then, if we submit to the idea that CO2 is pollution, then comes under the regulatory control of the people who claim to be saving us from pollution."

Astrophysicist/geoscientist Dr. Willie Soon: "CO2 is the gas of life."
"And these people want to demonise it as some gas that can cause global warming, can cause hurricanes... more rain, more droughts, and all this other nonsense that they claim."
"And I've published scientific papers refuting all of these arguments."

WIND TURBINES - The truth isn’t clean or green.
This was once to be a beautiful lake, now it’s just hundreds of km of toxic sludge … after mining rare earth Neodymium.
A 2 MW wind turbine is made up of:
▪️260 tons of steel requiring
▪️300 tons of iron ore
▪️170 tons of coking coal
▪️ rare earths including Praseodymium (Pr), Neodymium (Nd), Terbium (Tb), and Dysprosium (Dy)
▪️fibre glass
▪️resin
▪️plastic
▪️aluminium
…. all mined & produced using hydrocarbons. And all leaving a trail of destruction as they are mined, extracted and manufactured.
So we can pretend we’ve saved the planet 🤡
Studies find solar power has low or even negative energy return on energy invested in N Europe.
UK is even cloudier and more seasonal than most of N Europe.
So a solar farm in Lincolnshire will probably consume more energy in its construction than it ever generates.
