Wow, that was interesting. I totally get both sides. Leaning towards the couple's position. But I get, if there was an obvious Asian and someone said, "where you from" or "what nationality are you?" they'd probably say "Aussie" then when they got a look, or a further enquiry, they'd say "oh, parents are Chinese but I'm Aussie born and bred. And that would be the end of it. Isn't this really just a semantic debate ? Not sure but it's interesting.
