@s8mb There’s also a certain point of view that our planet is becoming overpopulated and if the growth rate doesn’t slow that we will outgrow the level that resources can sustain. So maybe reduction in procreation is in the best interest of the greater good, instead of something worse.
@dillonb0711@MichaelHook_CLE It’s not different until there is a month or more of tape for pitchers to watch. He’s hitting what they’re throwing him so far and laying off the other stuff. If he can evolve with the pitchers, then yea, he can be special. Sounds very old man to say, but we’ve seen this before.
@dillonb0711@MichaelHook_CLE Also, for reference, Oscar Gonzalez had 9 hits in his first 21 plate appearances. Better production than Angel has had by a mile, and you see how that turned out. He’s not even in the league 2 years later.
@dillonb0711@MichaelHook_CLE Crochet has a 3.9 WAR, good for 9th in the AL overall, not just pitchers. If you think Martinez (21 plate appearances, 0.3 WAR, admittedly small sample) would be a guaranteed help to the team of that magnitude for the next 2 years then fine, keep him.
